Horizon by Davidoff is a woody-spicy fragrance for men. Launched in 2016, this composition was created by Olivier Pescheux and Jacques Huclier. The top notes unfold with ginger, rosemary, grapefruit, and mandarin; the heart reveals cedar, patchouli, pepper, nutmeg, and sesame; while the base notes settle on vetiver and cocoa pod.

  • Just a woody scent, but it’s not bad. A soft and well-balanced aroma, like carrying a piece of the forest with you. The notes don’t sound synthetic. If you’re looking for a soft, non-intrusive spicy woody scent, it’s a good option. Moderate sillage and longevity.

  • Horizon is a spicy, fresh, and woody lotion, very masculine. It opens with citrus and herbal notes with a short longevity, then moves to the spicy phase that gives it personality: nutmeg, pepper, ginger, and cedar. That combination is very pleasant and reminds me of 90s lotions (like Platinum Egoiste), without copying any specific one. I detect an undeclared floral note. The drydown is pleasant, with warmth from patchouli and cocoa, which only enrich the scent. Very versatile: for any season (with discretion in summer), romantic outings, friends, or work; it’s an ‘all-rounder’. It’s the Davidoff I’ve liked the most in years; its notes don’t bother or weigh you down. Projection is regular, skin longevity is excellent. Would I buy it? Maybe yes.

  • Davidoff Horizon: herbal, citrusy, and elegant. Smells like the early 90s, a golden era for fragrances like this. It’s timeless and always smells good. If you enjoy these scents, it’s a solid purchase with an attractive price point. Sillage and longevity are moderate. Overall rating based on price: 7/10.

  • Innovative fragrance with an uncommon scent. Reminiscent of Terre d’Hermès but without the mineral notes. It’s an average perfume—not great, but not bad. It has a variety of notes, but to me, it smells like the sour oranges common here: normal-tasting, not sweet. That’s its vibe: non-sweet orange. Sillage is low to moderate (about 3 hours), then fades to skin and shifts to tangerine for another 3 hours before disappearing. Total longevity is around 6 hours. Best for formal occasions and men over 25. If you try it and like it, go for Hermes instead: it costs a bit more but offers better projection, longevity, and quality.

  • It’s a somewhat innovative fragrance with an uncommon scent. It bears a resemblance to Terre d’Hermès, but without the mineral notes. I wouldn’t call it a great perfume; it feels average to me. It has a good variety of notes, but for me, it all boils down to an acidic orange scent. These oranges are just like regular ones in taste, but they’re not sweet—that’s the difference. This is exactly how this fragrance smells: like an orange that isn’t sweet. On me, it had a low-to-medium trail for about three hours, then faded to skin-level, and the scent shifted slightly, feeling more like tangerine for another three hours before disappearing. Low-to-medium trail with 6 hours of longevity. It’s a formal scent suitable for ages 25 and up. I’d recommend trying it, but if you like it, I’d suggest going with the Hermes version instead: it costs a bit more but offers better projection and longevity, and the ingredients feel higher quality.

  • It has a youthful aroma combined with something adult or retro. Its woody base is of the old school, yet it smells recent; that mix is what I love. Very good combination. I recommend it! Rating: 7.5/10.

  • New purchase, and I agree with the previous reviews: fresh woody scent, very natural and masculine (zero unisex). It’s versatile, pleasant, classic but modern, nothing outdated. It resembles Terre d’Hermes, Kenzo Homme Boisé, or Guerlain L’Homme Boisé without copying any of them. Reminds me of an old Natura fragrance called ‘Gen’ (now discontinued). Decent performance and excellent price here in Argentina.

  • Not my style. Smells dry, woody, and spicy, quite unrealistic. Reminds me of Quorum Silver, nothing like the Terre I was expecting. Notes of cedar, nutmeg, and vetiver. It has a good price, but right now it doesn’t make sense in my collection. Good longevity, contained sillage. EDIT: The ‘sky and earth’ marketing sounds like a copy of Terre. According to the website, it has rosemary, ginger, cacao, and vetiver, but on my skin I don’t detect citrus; the official pyramid fits better.

I love it! Bought the 125ml bottle and have no regrets. It feels warmer than fresh: woods, spices, and a citrus touch; sometimes it smells like wet earth or ozone. Right after applying, it reminds me of Cacharel Amor pour Homme (not the same, but the connection is real). It’s not overpowering, with moderate sillage and longevity. Perfect for me in spring and fall. It’s on sale in Argentina at an incredible price. If you’re interested, I’ll send you the perfumeria’s email. Scent: 8/10, Sillage: 5/10, Longevity: 6/10, Price: 10/10. Cheers from Argentina!

  • Honestly, I love it! I tried it and bought the 125ml without any regrets. It feels warmer than fresh: woods, spices, and a citrus touch. In some moments, it smells like wet earth or even ozonic. The first time I wore it, it reminded me of Cacharel’s Amor pour Homme; it’s not the same, but every time I use it, that memory comes back to me—I’m not sure if they share notes. It’s a pleasant scent, not annoying because it’s not invasive, with moderate sillage and longevity. Beyond being suitable year-round, I see it as ideal for spring and autumn. Here in Argentina, it’s on sale at an excellent price. If you’re interested, I’ll send the perfumeria’s address via email. Scent: 8/10, Sillage: 5/10, Longevity: 6/10, Price: 10/10. Cheers from Argentina!

  • Elegant, sober, with a classic style but not outdated. Suitable for any formal occasion, it performs best in cool weather though it does very well in heat too. Very versatile and balanced, with high sillage and longevity. It’s spectacular for events and work meetings, combining perfectly with elegant or smart-casual outfits. I recommend having it in your collection!

  • gaston_AR

Classic yet not old-lady vibes; elegant and understated. Perfect for any formal event or work meeting; looks great with both elegant and sporty outfits. Works best in cool weather, though it holds up okay in the heat too. Very balanced, with great sillage and longevity. A must-have in your collection!

  • Jamlepper

Horizon… what a pleasant surprise! Those who commented before summed it all up. This beautiful bottle is an effusion of spicy freshness: after an energizing citrus opening, it settles into a spice combo that my nose finds very rewarding. It feels classic without smelling outdated; the ginger note renews the fragrance, giving it a fresh air as it evolves with that mix of spices and cedar that make it warmer. I detect rosemary, clean citrus notes, revitalizing ginger, cedar, and to a lesser extent, nutmeg. It deserves a spot in the collection. The price is ridiculously low given its accessibility and performance; it has decent longevity on my skin.

  • The EsScential

What a pleasant surprise! It reminds me a lot of Moschino Pour Homme (they share cedar and rosemary) and has a hint of L’Insense by Givenchy (mandarin and lavender transformed into vetiver). Ideal for a cloudy autumn afternoon, something intense, like giving meaning to a fantastic forest of cedars, spices, and vetiver. The citrus fades quickly, rosemary holds the spices, and patchouli lets the vetiver peek through. The finish is a bit powdery, but nothing feminine thanks to the cocoa bean. It’s formal but only so much; in the end, no tie needed, just like the ad model. Excellent price-to-quality ratio; with an hour more of longevity, it would be a classic.

  • A great option for the price: citrusy, woody, slightly earthy, with a smooth evolution that turns lightly sweet. Good performance, projects well, and lasts 6-8 hours on the skin. An elegant style for the office or meetings, definitely for men 25 and up.

  • paolobertucci

It deserves a review because it’s affordable but doesn’t smell cheap. It’s not a beast mode, but it performs very well. The scent isn’t linear; it has development. It smells fresh, clean, citrusy, with woods and a hint of spice; when it dries down, it seems sweet. Perfect for daily wear. I use it when I’m unsure what to put on; it’s liked, not annoying, has dynamics, and doesn’t get boring: it’s a great all-rounder. It lasts 5-7 hours on mild to warm days, projecting modestly for the first 1-2 hours. Reminds me of Terre d’Hermes, Alliance Epice, and Natura Homem Especiarias.

  • paolobertucci

Worth mentioning because it’s cheap but not cheap quality. It’s not a beast mode, but it delivers: a non-linear scent with development. Smells good—fresh, clean, citrusy, woody, with spicy touches that turn sweet as it dries. Perfect for daily wear. I use it when I don’t know what to put on; it pleases without bothering, has dynamics, and never gets boring. It’s a great workhorse. Lasts 5-7 hours on mild or warm days, with modest projection for the first 1-2 hours. Reminiscent of Terre d’Hermès, Alliance Épicée, and the spicy side of Natura Homme.

  • As others have noted, the fragrance is affordable and doesn’t smell bad at all, but that’s where it stops. It’s herbal and citrusy, with just the grapefruit and rosemary standing out, and nothing else. The longevity is acceptable, around five hours, after which it fades and stays very close to the skin. I wouldn’t buy it again: definitely not. I picked it up because a 125 ml bottle was on sale. It’s a morning fragrance, unpretentious, and perfect for the office.

  • As others say, it’s cheap and doesn’t smell bad, but it stays there. It’s herbal and citrusy, highlighting only the grapefruit and rosemary. Lasts about five hours acceptably, then fades to sit right on the skin. I wouldn’t buy it again; I got it for a deal on 125ml. It’s a morning scent, unpretentious, perfect for the office.

  • william aguirre

I tried it and liked it. It has a Terre d’Hermès touch: fresh, aromatic, green with a sweet base. The vetiver is the star, it delivers, and it’s affordable. Scent rating: 8, trail: 7, longevity: 6, price: 10.

  • The opening of this fragrance is rich; it reminds me of Terre d’Hermès (though of much lower quality). However, the dry-down is the problem: it loses all its charm and becomes super synthetic and tacky. I bought it for the opening, but I no longer wear it.

  • Great packaging—the box and bottle are well-made. Not one of my favorites, so I rarely wear it. The scent is robust, a blend of ginger, citronella, and woods that smell like oak. Ideal for winter occasions.

  • Great packaging; the box and bottle are well-made. It’s not one of my favorites, and I hardly use it. The scent is a bit robust: a mix of ginger, citronella, and woody notes that also smell like oak. It’s a good option for winter occasions.

  • Luis chin

The opening is rich and reminiscent of Terre d’Hermès, though of lower quality. The issue lies in the dry-down: it loses all its charm and becomes super synthetic and tacky. I bought it for the opening, but I’ve stopped wearing it since.

  • True, it smells like Terre d’Hermès: the orange and vetiver create that mature citrus vibe, slightly aged with an elegant earthy touch. It’s much softer than the TH, perfect for casual gatherings or semi-formal settings. The projection is subtle but always present; it lasts beautifully on clothes. In short: mature, semi-formal, and soft. TH fans will love it, but others might not care for that sharp orange note.

  • It’s true that it reminds me of Terre d’Hermes: the orange and vetiver give it that mature citrus feel, slightly aged, earthy yet elegant. It’s much softer than the TH. I think it stands out well in casual gatherings and even in more formal settings. Its projection is soft but always present. It smells great on clothes. In summary: mature, semi-formal, soft. Those who like the TH will have a lovely experience; those who don’t… that slightly sour orange might bother them.

  • A fragrance that dominated the perfume corridors of department stores at least where I live. I’ve liked it a lot: it’s not a masterpiece, it’s not the black thread of perfumery, but it’s a very well-constructed, elegant, fresh, friendly, and very pleasant aroma; it’s a must-have for the quality it offers. Besides, it costs much less than it’s worth, I mean, it’s literally a gift. I enjoy its aroma a lot, I don’t see it for 20-year-olds. Scent 8.0, Longevity 8 hours projecting the first 2. Versatility 8.0. Good fragrance, recommended.

  • Sloan_Arg

A fragrance designed in the full 21st century with all the generic retro splendor of the 80s. It’s not for blind buys (as was my case). Perfumes don’t have an age, but olfactory memory often relates an age more than once. If you want to smell like a 60-year-old man in the full 2021, this is the indicated fragrance. There is a leather note that is not declared and is quite annoying. Despite being strong in its opening, it has very sterile longevity and projection (like most Davidoff perfumes). Scent: 3/10, Quality: 3/10, Longevity: 4/10, Projection: 4/10, Versatility: 3/10. Apologies to those who like this fragrance, but it’s an honest review on my part and a compilation of opinions from the dozen people who told me things like: ‘you smell old’, ‘big man’, ‘you smell like my oldest uncle in the family’, or ‘your perfume reminds me of my grandfather’, etc., etc., etc… (it seems I wasn’t the only one perceiving that ‘vintage imprint’).

  • The one that started it all. I was gifted this at the dawn of my fragrance hobby. I feel it’s moderately formal and jovial in aroma. It has a mysterious touch, perhaps due to the ginger note, which is heightened more at the start thanks to the always clean lavender. Already discontinued, I still keep a quarter of a bottle to remember the aroma from time to time. The bad thing about this fragrance is its longevity: in my case, it’s a maximum of 5-6 hours; however, later I found out about the Extreme version, but it was too late to get it. The fact that it was gifted makes it special in my collection.

  • Amazing perfume! Is it similar to Terre d’Hermes? Yes, but it’s friendlier. TDH has that sour orange note that I don’t like much; this smells more like grapefruit, less invasive. I like TDH, but Horizon won me over because it’s more versatile: I wore it today at 30 degrees Celsius and it worked perfectly with just 3 sprays. It projects well, the vetiver is well-executed, and as it dries, the wood and cocoa become noticeable. In Argentina, the 125ml bottle is half the price of TDH. I recommend it if you prefer something versatile! Projection is very good, longevity is easily 6 hours. A hater (Sloan arg) says it’s old and doesn’t last… He tested a fake one for me. Review what you like, but don’t lie about longevity. I promise to edit and attach the batch so people don’t say false things. Let’s get out there and try it! If you don’t like it, no big deal. Bye and hope it helps you!

  • Amazing perfume! Is it similar to Terre d’Hermes? Yes, but it’s a bit friendlier; TDH has a sour orange that I don’t like as much, this one is more of a grapefruit, perhaps, not so invasive. Mind you, I like TDH, but I liked Horizon more because I feel it’s more versatile. I used it today at 30 degrees and it was great, just 3 sprays. It comes out potent, the vetiver is well done in my opinion, and in the dry-down, you perceive the woodiness and the cocoa. Here in Argentina, the 125 ml comes out half the price of TDH, so I recommend it if you prefer something more versatile. Very good projection, longevity… easily 6 hours. A hater here (Sloan Arg, who must be Argentine too) says it’s old and blah blah blah, that it doesn’t last anything… You tested a fake for me. Review the ones you like, that’s it, but don’t lie with that low longevity rating please, it’s not cool. I promise to edit and attach the batch so that really nothing untrue is said here. We have to get up and try it, guys, and if you don’t like it, no big deal. Bye and hope my opinion is useful to you.

  • Gentil vagabond

I bought a tester of this perfume two years ago; the 100 ml version was recommended to me, and it was a blind buy. What can I say? It’s an exquisite aroma, with an extraordinary balance and those notes that generate elegance. Its weak point is longevity: it lasted on my skin maybe an hour, and its dry-down isn’t its strong suit either. Maybe I’ll give the Extreme version a chance, but I’m not buying this one again.

  • It’s very similar to Cardón Mar from Argentina (and therefore, on the path of Terre d’Hermes), only that Horizon has the Davidoff imprint: that is, tobacco, despite not being declared, I smell it very strongly. It’s my guilty pleasure. That incense-like vetiver won’t leave my head. I must have it by God.

  • Carlo_Magnani

They say the capo’s assistant always keeps a silk suit in the closet. While waiting for his moment, he sticks to the normal, to what corresponds to his position, or what he decides to use to assume his subordinate situation with intelligence and security. Horizon is that suit: it waits its time, and in the meantime, it doesn’t give up emitting mystery and respect that puts people on guard, without being loud, towards those who wear it. It’s somber without being lugubrious, of a measured gravity without reaching the imposingness of big deals like Gucci Guilty Absolute. The tangerine and ginger are responsible for its serene majesty at the start: a beginning with an invasive but totally friendly character, of proven versatility. The touches of nutmeg, cedar, and patchouli consistently complete the composition. The vetiver seals the restrained design of this fragrance. Regarding longevity and projection, the classic questions: well, both are moderate, but the excellent price-performance ratio makes that not a problem worth considering. I recommend the beautiful 40 ml bottle with frosted glass edges (a delight to the touch), to carry it in the blazer pocket or the bag you choose and reapply the fragrance at will. Young people who want to leave the virgin lands of CK One and access more robust paths of essences, without falling into the error of believing that perfumery started with 1 Million and the whole vanilla and gourmand cohort, should head to Horizon by Davidoff. It will serve as a good guide for the stormy journey they are about to start.

  • I don’t know, maybe I was sold something defective or a fake, but it’s a perfume that’s almost non-existent in aroma, let alone projection or sillage. A real fiasco.

  • I don’t know, maybe I was sold a defective bottle or a fake, but this is a perfume that doesn’t exist; it has almost no scent. Forget about projection or sillage. A total fiasco.

  • If you ask me which perfume has been underestimated, without a doubt, this Horizon is one of them. It’s a blessing that it didn’t jump on the reviewers’ hype; it’s not meant to go mainstream, but to be valued by time. It clearly reminds you of Terre d’Hermes, with nothing to envy or complain about. The quality is noticeable, and you discover it when the ginger, grapefruit, and rosemary become perceptible in the opening: that’s when you realize that being cheap, it offers quite a bit. The nutmeg and pepper give way to a vetiver worthy of triple the price, combined with a cocoa that velvetizes the fragrance. Every note is enjoyed for more than the 12 hours it lasts on the skin. On clothes, the vetiver along with the citrus and spicy notes last for days. It’s one of the jewels of my collection.

  • Currokontodo

It doesn’t really resemble TDH, to be honest. Maybe the vetiver gives a hint, but while the original keeps the orange note going for a long time, Horizon is citrusy without being orange; it smells more like ginger and grapefruit and is less earthy. I tested both at the same time and although I liked both, I admit that TDH is more classic and elegant, while Horizon feels more common, mind you, not a bad perfume. In both, the vetiver is at full blast, but in my opinion, it’s more noticeable in Horizon; in TDH, it’s more disguised by the orange. If you can get it at a good price, grab a bottle: it smells clean, familiar, and has decent longevity, perfect for daily wear.
