Hei by Alfred Sung is an aromatic fougère fragrance for men. Launched in 2002, this composition was created by perfumer David Apel. The top notes unfold with bamboo, mint, violet leaves, and bergamot; the heart reveals a harmony of aquatic notes, jasmine, lavender, neroli, fennel, cardamom, and dill; while the base notes close the structure with musk, cedar, tonka bean, amber, and cedar.

Very good fragrance, special for hot summer nights. It stays pleasant longer than I imagined and doesn’t turn sour with sweat.

  • It was a blind buy with low expectations. The design is nice, comfortable in the hand, and the atomizer works well; the bottle looks like a drop of water, very pretty. The opening is very spicy, almost to the point of making me sneeze; it reminds me of a cream from a cousin I haven’t seen that made me cry. I’d never noticed the bamboo note in a perfume before and I liked it, along with the aquatic notes which aren’t my favorites. It’s not sweet, has a salty touch, and a woody hint. Longevity is about 4-5 hours with heavy application, but for the price it’s fine. The downside is the projection: it stays close to the skin almost from the start. Overall, it’s pleasant and has good value. Would I buy it again? I don’t think so, but I’m not regretting owning it. It looks good and smells good. Design: 8/10, Projection: 4/10, Longevity: 7/10, Scent: 8/10, Total: 27/40.

  • This aquatic fragrance isn’t my style. The opening is rich, then white flowers with bamboo come through, you can smell the lemon and lavender, but the dry down has something that doesn’t sit right with me. I don’t feel much interaction; it feels weak. Good for summer, I’d give it 7/10.

Got the SUNG HOMME and was pleasantly surprised by this ‘HOMME’. I wasn’t expecting much, but I loved it so much I gifted it on the same day it arrived. Smells fresh and clean, though with only 8 sprays it barely lasts more than 3 hours.
