Descripción

Halston Classic by Halston is a floral chypre fragrance for women. Launched in 1975, the nose behind this composition is Bernard Chant. The top notes evoke green leaves, mint, peach, melon, and bergamot; the heart unfolds with calendula, carnation, cedar, lily root, ylang-ylang, rose, and jasmine; while the base notes settle on oakmoss, vetiver, amber, incense, patchouli, sandalwood, and musk.

  • Azuritta with the new trend of fruity floral fragrances. Chypres of this type usually lean more masculine or unisex. I wear it and have received plenty of good comments, though it takes some getting used to.

  • Yes, it was truly a pleasant, potent, and attractive fragrance, perfect for turning heads without being overwhelming. More fruity-floral than chypre, with a notable presence of sandalwood. At times, I liked it quite a bit; if I had it, I’d use it sporadically. However, I never considered it anything very special. Any masculine characteristics? I can’t picture a man wearing it. It seems more suited for women with an aggressive, standout attitude—the kind who, once they set their sights on something, don’t stop until they get it, even in a bidding war for a blouse at a thrift store.

  • HALSTON CANCIÓN: Ride to Atlantis, the theme from ‘The Spy Who Loved Me’ by Marvin Hamslich. In the James Bond film, there’s a scene where Bond travels to Italy to meet the villain Stromberg, arriving in Sardinia. He’s greeted by one of the henchwomen, Naomi (the beautiful Caroline Munro), in the bay, wearing a spectacular bikini. Ever since seeing that scene, I didn’t hesitate to think Naomi was wearing Halston on her skin. Halston defined the disco era in Europe and the world. It’s the quintessential floral chypre, that androgynous scent that made women mysterious. It’s floral but wrapped in vetiver and incense, with oakmoss giving it its masculine character. It’s the image of the sexy woman who wears pants and men’s clothes without sacrificing her femininity. It’s a classic and must be tried in its original formula, as it’s a victim of reformulations; the current Halston is a ghost of what this fabulous fragrance once was.

It reminds me of my grandmother’s perfume, which had a strong personality. It’s not for sweet girls having picnics in the summer. It’s floral with sandalwood, incense, and maybe a very faint touch of melon—a powdery aroma. Those who enjoy scents like Maja will find similarities. I can’t imagine a guy wearing this; it would be like a man using Maja, which sounds like a mismatch. I agree with what I read: if you’re tired of sweet, girly perfumes, this is an excellent option. It boosts your dominatrix instinct. I don’t see it for the club, but rather for mature women who’ve swapped the nightlife for evenings with friends and want to be noticed when someone interesting walks by.

Another great classic. Halston was wonderful (it has been reformulated). It wasn’t a perfume for sweet little girls; it was the fragrance for women with a haughty walk, great presence, and lots of character, in the style of María Félix and Marlene Dietrich. At first, I greatly appreciated its intense green and fruity notes, but after half an hour, the amber, sandalwood, moss, patchouli, a mix of woods, vetiver, and the only flower I could distinguish—carnation—stood out clearly. This perfume made me feel like a woman at 12 years old; I was the sensation with it. It lasted hours on my skin, and looking back, I’m surprised how naturally I wore such perfumes when I was so young. Sadly, Halston is no longer even a whisper of what it once was.

  • Undoubtedly the most herbal floral chypre I’ve ever tried. It has that seventies vibe with moss, green notes, and sandalwood, but Halston adds mint, incense, amber, and vetiver. Despite all that, the calendula is clearly noticeable. The peach and melon are almost undetectable, clashing with the rest to create a sweet-and-sour balance that’s not easy to achieve. In short, it’s an herbal narcotic bomb. I love its herbal side, which becomes more powdery over time and hits its peak. If you don’t like potent herbal chypres, skip it; but if you’re bold, give it a try because it’s worth it.

Another great classic. Halston was wonderful (it has been reformulated); it was a perfume not for sweet little girls, but for women who walked with a haughty stride, with great presence and lots of character, in the style of Maria Felix and Marlene Dietrich. At first, I appreciated its green and fruity notes very much, very intense, but after half an hour, I smelled the amber, sandalwood, moss, patchouli, a mix of woods, vetiver, and the only flower I could distinctly identify was the carnation. This perfume made me feel like a woman at 12 years old; I was the sensation with this unique aroma. It lasted hours on my skin, and looking back, I’m surprised how, being so young, I was capable of wearing such perfumes with so much naturalness. Tragically, Halston is no longer even the breath of what it once was.

  • IT IS NOT A YOUTHFUL PERFUME. IT HAS AN ANCIENT PROFILE. IT IS A STRONG AND LONG-LASTING SCENT WITH GREAT CLASS.

  • It’s a mature perfume, very woody/green. Personally, it’s very strong; I only use two sprays for the whole day. The bottle is impractical because you have to hold it with both hands to apply it. The fragrance lasts practically all day and I live in a cold climate.

I bought it for its age and discovered I’m an enthusiast of old perfumes. It didn’t disappoint me, but it wasn’t the big discovery either. Maybe for rough or coarse tastes, it doesn’t feel sweet but strong in its woody side. I like it, but I don’t love it. We get along better in cool climates; to date, I haven’t craved it in another season. It lasts tremendously; I get dizzy if I’m wrong about the day; to the point where I put on my drawer sweater at the office (I keep it as a desk fragrance). Maybe we didn’t understand each other well; maybe it lacks the ability to escape the four walls of my workplace? Maybe one day I’ll be brave enough to wear it beyond that and find another side that’s been stuck in the drawer. Edit: I took it out of the drawer one very hot day and it smells better. Potent but sweet, just like Aromatics Elixir, which I also tested on a sunny day, and what a miracle it was!

  • I bought it for its vintage appeal and discovered I’m an enthusiast of old perfumes. It didn’t disappoint, but it wasn’t a huge discovery either. Perhaps for rough tastes, it doesn’t feel sweet but strong and woody. I like it, but I don’t love it. It suits cooler climates best; to this day, I haven’t craved it in other weather. It lasts tremendously; I get dizzy if I wear it on the wrong day, to the point where I put on my cardigan at the office as if it were a desk fragrance. Maybe we didn’t click, or it needs to get out of the four walls of my workplace. Maybe one day I’ll be brave enough to wear it beyond the office and discover another side that’s been stuck in the drawer. Edit: I wore it one very hot day. It smells better. Potent yet sweet, just like Aromatics Elixir, which I also tried on a sunny day, and it was wonderful!

  • My mom wore this for years, so I knew it well. I thought it was discontinued until I spotted it at a perfume shop recently; I guess it’s been reformulated. It’s a true classic, though. If anyone knows more, please share. To be honest, I never liked it. It’s an overpowering, intense chypre that screams ‘I’m here and I’m not moving.’ Cedar, moss, amber, incense, and patchouli dominate everything, swallowing the floral and fruity notes whole. I never even tried it on; it just didn’t attract me. I don’t make up stories or fake experiences to force a positive impression—if you want to see how it was marketed, check out the Halston series on Netflix. I’m just reviewing the scent: it’s a strong, vintage fragrance that was relevant and successful, known by generations of moms. It’s not for everyone. Don’t buy it blindly or give it as a gift; always test it first. To me, it smells a bit off, and while the bottle has a lovely design story, it looks somewhat plain now. Scent: 7/10 Trail: 10/10 Longevity: 10/10

  • My mom used to wear it for years; I’m familiar with the fragrance, which I thought was discontinued, but I saw it in a perfumery recently; I suppose it’s either reformulated or a classic glory. Hopefully, someone who knows will enrich the discussion with that data. To be frank: I never loved it. It’s a very strong, intense chypre that screams, here I am, and I’m not going anywhere. Cedar, moss, amber, incense, and patchouli devour the floral and fruity notes, which go unnoticed. I never even tried it on; it didn’t attract me in the slightest. I don’t invent places or facts I wasn’t in, nor do I force my brain to feel something pleasant; for that, watch the Halston series on Netflix. I just review: it’s a strong scent from another era, relevant and successful, that our moms knew. It’s not for everyone; don’t buy it blindly or gift it blindly; get to know it first. To me, it’s unpleasant; the bottle, with its beautiful design history, is now something ordinary. Scent 7/10, Sillage 10/10, Longevity 10/10.

  • Along with Amarige D’Amour, this super vintage scent arrived for me to share with a friend, since we knew it would be a bomb, and… it is. I’ll test it with a couple of drops and update the review.

I ordered it on Amazon and it just arrived. I love it and my mom used to wear it when I was in high school. So good that vintage perfumes are still available. I’ll share more when I finally wear it.

Wooooow, what a delight and what a beauty! A clear example of old-world manufacturing with character and class. It’s long-lasting with beastly fixation and wide projection. I found two full, new bottles of this relic at an antique bazaar. It hits me with a warm, powdery balsam due to its incense note, plus a delicious roasted rose with resinous amber and vetiver; in the dry down, bergamot and patchouli. God, I’ve adored it and see it’s still available at giveaway prices on Mercado Libre or Amazon… I want more of this ancient liquor that screams elegance and sensuality!

  • This is my mom’s perfume: potent and long-lasting. The opening is beastly, mossy, and green, not warm at all at first, but I love it for layering; with a little vanilla or sugar from a body lotion, it becomes delicious, adding the sweetness it needs. In the end, the original note remains, which is indeed sweet. To sum up, nothing like current perfumery and way above dusty vintage.

This fragrance was a surprise to me; despite being an eau de cologne, it has excellent longevity (it lasted about 5 hours). I perceive it with a lot of personality and freshness. After a while, I became fascinated by its earthy base; I liked it so much I couldn’t stop smelling my wrist. Call me crazy, but it reminds me a little of Volupté by Oscar de la Renta, just more unisex.

Caught me off guard: it’s an eau de cologne but lasts all day, about 5 hours. It has a lot of personality and freshness, but then the earthy base left me fascinated; I couldn’t stop smelling my wrist. Call me crazy, it smells a bit like Oscar de la Renta’s Volupté, but more unisex.
