  I stumbled upon Etro fragrances by chance this morning. Greene Street has an interesting opening, green and slightly spiced. The heart is more floral and oriental, and it smells delicious. The dry-down is very unisex. The benzoin fits perfectly, and I’d appreciate a longer-lasting incense note. It’s a beautiful oriental-spiced scent with floral and incense touches that give it appeal. Interesting finish.

  I’m not really a fan of this Italian niche house. It seems ridiculous to me that they promote ‘layering’—stacking their perfumes to create something new; it feels like a lack of respect for perfumers. But this fragrance works well for me. It’s warm, very wearable, and exudes elegance. It has character: spiced, an intimate and urban oriental, modern. Yes, it’s a moderate scent with medium longevity, but I love that soft resinous sweetness with a natural nutmeg note. It doesn’t stand out or leave a great memory, but it’s perfect for shy, intellectual people who prefer silence and discretion. Among the Etro scents I’ve tried, this is the one I like most along with New Tradition, though this one has more charm. It’s a perfume of natural essences for those who dislike artifice.
