A classic fragrance centered on a single patchouli accord. It starts strong and fresh with rosemary and citrus, highlighting the bergamot. Then patchouli enters, accompanied by light rose and geraniums that soften its earthiness, while woods add sweetness, density, and body. What seduced me most is the amber, which gives warmth, shine, and richness of nuances. Interestingly, the mint creates an interesting balsamic aura with great depth and projection. The result is slightly earthy, dry, with a slight musty touch, a floral background, and very deep. It has quality and is very well crafted. On the negative side, it lacks a bit of projection. It’s classic, yes, but that makes it timeless, elegant, and usable daily thanks to its moderate projection. The effect is very hippie and seventies; I associate this patchouli with a summer in Ibiza. I’ll keep investigating it. Rating: 8.
Pure classic, all one patchouli accord. It starts strong and fresh with rosemary and citrus, highlighting the bergamot. Then patchouli enters with soft floral touches of rose and geranium that temper it, while woods add sweetness and body. What hooks me most is the amber, which gives it warmth and shine. The mint creates a deep balsamic aura. In the end, it’s slightly earthy, dry, with a very deep floral background and quality. The downside is that it lacks projection. It’s timeless, elegant, and usable daily thanks to its moderation. The effect is very hippie and seventies, reminding me of a summer in Ibiza. I’ll keep investigating it. Note: 8
It’s an Etro jewel that keeps the density and dark character of the eighties creations. Patchouli rules from the start: it begins green and fresh, then turns earthy with fermented, dirty, even animalic scents, reminding me of stables and barnyards. It’s a difficult patchouli that doesn’t suit everyone and leaves a rancid, decadent, camphoraceous trail. It was launched as a base for layering with the brand’s fresher fragrances, but I tried every possible combination and none worked; in the end, I simply didn’t like it. It’s a retro classic full of contrasts. Don’t buy it blindly, test it on your skin or ask for a sample. Its dirty, farm-like aura might scare off generations used to modern scents.
An Etro jewel that maintains the density and dark character of the eighties. Patchouli takes charge from the beginning: it starts green and fresh, moves to an earthy note with dirty, fermented, almost animalic nuances; to me, it smells like stables and barnyards. It’s a difficult patchouli that doesn’t suit everyone and leaves a rancid, decadent, camphoraceous trail. It was created as a base for layering with other lighter Etro fragrances, but I went crazy looking for the ideal combination with the sales associate and there was no way. Conclusion: I didn’t like it. It’s a retro classic of contrasts. Don’t buy it blindly, test it on your skin or ask for a sample. Its dirty, farmyard aura might turn off generations accustomed to current scents.
