Ideal for Autumn, of course during the day; they say it’s for young people, but I’m 48 and I wear it and feel great. Regarding reformulations, I can’t say much; I bought it from Abercrombie’s online store in mid-June 2017, and from the start, the sillage and longevity seemed average. I sprayed three times on my torso and twice on both neck areas, and they last all day. At the end, I smell that fine ambergris note from Abercrombie that I absolutely love. I already said the longevity is definitely true, but the sillage drops considerably as hours pass, but that’s not my concern. Regarding the notes, I’m not an expert, I’m new to Fragantica, though I want to share my passion for perfumes with everyone. Well, the notes: ambergris, fir, and finally sweet, there’s something I like that persists, and I think it’s the ambergris that lasts throughout the perfume’s development. Regarding duplicates, I’m not a fan; I think it’s better to save a bit more and buy what you like, because you’ll enjoy it and be happier with the money spent.
I was very curious to try this fragrance after reading in several blogs and forums treating it as the sexiest in the world, but based on the comparison my compatriot made below with Reef’s Tasmania, my instant desire vanished. Because if this is true, I don’t want to walk around smelling like a clothing store air freshener, no way. Not even if it were the only fragrance women liked.
I just bought Abercrombie Fierce and Polo Sport… Honestly, I expected more from Polo, and the surprise was Abercrombie, wow!! Fierce has 95% of Montblanc Legend’s opening; I really like its spice combination and especially its citrus touch. Longevity and sillage last between 5 and 6 hours, recommended for daily wear and the office; you’re going to impress women… As for Polo Sport, it seems like a very mentholated, cool scent for hot weather, and a classic I’ve heard a thousand times in spring-summer (I think it’s lower quality than Fierce)… Rating (scent, projection, longevity, and sillage) Fierce 9, Polo Sport 8.
Smells very delicious, citrusy, and fresh. It has some sexy touches that women love. One of the best fresh fragrances for everyday wear and for conquering hearts at the same time.
I had been craving Fierce for a long time, especially because I love the smell that floods the street whenever you pass the Stradivarius clothing store doors. A carefree, youthful, yet impactful scent. Finally, it arrived, I tested it, and yes, it reminded me of that smell, but mostly of Egoiste Platinum. At least, that was the first impression. Completely pleasant, fresh, neither too sporty nor too formal. 100% American school style, meaning that type of men’s perfume that aims to ‘smell clean.’ But I couldn’t stop thinking: if I already have Platinum—remember Chanel’s perfume was designed for the American market—why would I want this? With successive tests, the nuances came through, and finally, I fell in love. The Chanel scent is much colder, almost icy, with a refined and soapy base; overall, it’s more polished. In contrast, Fierce responds faithfully to the American spirit: simpler, more direct, no nonsense, mixing citrus, florals, wood, and oak moss to constantly convey that energetic and happy feeling, recklessly youthful, but in the way it was understood in the 90s (seriously, is it from 2002?). It has a Denomination of Origin, get it. It comes in cologne concentration, but this type of ‘concentration’ specification doesn’t make sense to me, since Fierce outperforms many eau de toilettes and even eau de parfums. Very good in this regard, well above both Platinum and most fragrances in its genre. I should clarify that I own the modern version. The real deal. Thumbs up. My ten out of ten.
It certainly has a great resemblance to Mont Blanc Legend, but this one is a bit more powdery (not much), which gives it that semi-formal use and makes it less elegant than Mont Blanc Legend. It’s a good perfume that stands out in the office. It’s not a compliment machine, but in perfumery that’s how it goes; there are fragrances that don’t appeal to your nose but make others go ‘Wuuuaaaa.’ I own both scents, and when one runs out, buying just one of the two is fine and leaving the choice for a different fragrance later works well.
A very herbal and soapy scent; I won’t say it doesn’t smell good, it just isn’t to my taste or style, plus the price is ridiculously high. But that’s just my opinion, try it before buying. It’s very similar to Mont Blanc Legend, which is three times cheaper and has very similar performance.
I bought it blind because my brother said it was the best scent he’d ever tried, after asking a colleague who wore it to work. But when I received it, what a surprise—nothing like it. Plus, the price isn’t worth what it offers. There are perfumes ten times better that cost ten times less. The downside is it smells exactly the same all the time. I don’t get why they insist it’s citrusy; from my point of view, it has zero citrus. It’s sweet and sharp, feeling somewhere between sticky and soapy, leaning more toward shower gel. It reminds me of Sauvage from a distance. I also detect something metallic, like something new, and it even smells like an elevator, haha. Finally, there are nuances that recall cosmetics or makeup, but very in the background. Longevity: excellent (for me), one of the longest-lasting on my skin. On clothes, no way. Value for money: it’s not worth it. Look for something that deserves that price, like Dior, Chanel, or Creed. There are better options at that price, even cheaper ones that perform better. A disappointment for me. Scent: 6/10 Longevity: 7/10 Projection: 6/10 Sillage: 7/10 Value: 2/10 Blind Buy: 5/10 Season: All year.
Mmm… I don’t know, it’s rich, sexy… but the bottle, haha, what a pity.
Not sure, but it smells great for everyday wear and girls dig it.
It smells sweet and clean, very pleasant. They say it’s similar to Montblanc Legend, but it’s the opposite: Fierce came out 9 years earlier, and they only resemble each other in the opening. Then Fierce keeps that clean, pleasant scent, while Legend turns darker, more formal, and has nothing to do with it anymore. Longevity is superior to 8 hours with projection of at least 3. The price is very high; the 3.4oz bottle costs almost $90 at the official store. For this 2022, the bottle was updated, and A&F also launched a Fierce collection with 7 scents, all related but clearly different.
To me, it’s an ambroxan version of By Dolce&Gabbana, but far inferior to the latter. You can find it in Divain 001.
I thought a lot before buying it, but I saw a sponsored YouTuber swear it was the best of the 90s, almost like bottled youth. To me, it smells like CK Eternity, which is, well, peeing on the grass in the morning. Lately, I’ve tried several Halloween clones that are copies of other perfumes; I feel Rock On mixes air with Gucci Guilty and the mint from Le Male. In the end, everyone spends their money on whatever decade they want, but every era will have a perfume that isn’t worth it because it smells like a cheaper copy and becomes generic, like Invictus.
It used to be a wonder. Recently, I bought the 200ml edition, and unfortunately, it feels like water. The scent disappears after 4 hours. It’s extremely expensive for what you get.
It’s a delicious, easy-to-please fragrance with a modern scent. The woody and floral notes really stand out; if you want to try floral scents, start here. It smells clean and pleasant; I’m sure it will get you many compliments.
2020 batch, 50ml: Maybe it was beautiful at first with good longevity and sillage. Now, in 2022, I was gifted it, and it’s the same: low longevity and weak sillage. Nothing more.
I’m hooked! I bought it for the notes (I love marine scents) and the reviews. Upon application, it smells clean, soapy, and new, then matures into moss, rosewood, and sandalwood, which are the most noticeable. Here in Colombia, almost no one wears it, giving it a unique, youthful, and sophisticated vibe—like a young, wealthy professional or yuppie. It performs well in summer but is better on mild days rather than extreme heat.
I really like it. It’s fresh, slightly sweet, and dries down with a faint talc-like note. I’m not sure what I love more, the opening or the dry down. It’s masculine but nothing too serious or formal. My 2022 batch lasts 6 hours on skin and leaves a trace on clothes for the next day; it doesn’t dissipate that easily.
Even though the reformulations have lowered its performance, I’m still thrilled. I’ve been wearing it since high school, and it’s my go-to fragrance. These days, it still has decent projection for about an hour and lasts at least 5 hours on skin; it settles beautifully on clothes. Perfect for summer: fresh, imposing, and ideal for everyday wear.
I bought it again during a trip to the US and noticed it has changed drastically compared to my 2009 bottle. This 2022 batch seems reformulated: it’s less intense, short-lived, and has average projection. What a shame; it used to be a hit, now I’m just keeping it for the collection.
Fierce by Abercrombie & Fitch was launched in 2002 and I just barely tried it. An undeniable fact is that the scent is one of the most copied and recognizable in the history of perfumery; despite having tried it only recently, I’ve been able to smell many fragrances inspired by it, like Montblanc Legend, Tous Man Intense, Perry Ellis 2018, Azzaro Sport, etc. Speaking specifically of Fierce, it’s an aromatic, woody, floral, and musky fragrance. In its opening, it has citrus and some aromatic elements, a bit aquatic. As minutes pass, you perceive a sort of lavender, sandalwood, musk, and maybe sage that give it the characteristic clean scent that made it so popular. Fierce is a daytime fragrance, one of those that puts me in a good mood, to be used in any season of the year, outdoor outings, at school, or for office use. Its longevity was a maximum of 5 hours with almost low projection, very close to the skin to perceive its aroma. The scent remains pleasant and tasty, however there are so many fragrances inspired by it that probably only you will know you’re wearing Fierce, because I doubt anyone will distinguish if you’re wearing one of its inspirations, which are sometimes cheaper. Still, for those who used it since it was launched, I’m sure they’ll prefer it over others, but for those who haven’t known it since then, I only recommend buying it if you find it at a good price; otherwise, with one of the mentioned fragrances, you’ll find a good alternative.
Scarce longevity and soft sillage, it’s throwing money in the trash, I don’t recommend buying it at all.
Fierce by Abercrombie & Fitch: There’s been a lot talked about this fragrance, that it resembles many, that it’s expensive, that it already has its history, that it doesn’t surprise anymore, and that it feels very generic. And well, although they have a point, this always stands out. While it can be generic and perhaps not surprise as much, and yes, effectively there are some that resemble it, it’s that wearing this always makes a note, it has a ‘something’ that sets it apart from the rest. Neither Montblanc Legend nor any other equals it; they play in the same league and if there is a resemblance, that’s all. This fragrance delivers, pleases, and remains perfectly relevant to this day. I could barely get my hands on it because it was too expensive for what it is, however I’ve had the luck to find it on sale and acquired it, I’m happy because although similar to several, it’s really not the same and like this one, exactly like this one… there isn’t. It’s not that it’s the super fragrance or the super exquisite and sexy, no, but it does have that and is easily one step ahead of the others that imitate it. Worth it as long as you find it at a reasonable price; I paid it in ‘Clearance’ at 60% OFF, for 30 dollars, and it was irresistible. Its use is very versatile: day, afternoon, night, office, outings with friends, and even dates look good, maybe for something more elegant there are other options. Scent: 9.0, Projection: a bit more than 2 hours, Longevity: between 7 and 8 hours. Recommended.
I bought it when Fierce was hard to get and very expensive, but I enjoyed it drop by drop to make it last and used it for special occasions. Now I only have a 10ml drem left… and out of nowhere, they gifted me this L’Bel New Code fragrance and my surprise was immense. L’Bel New Code is almost a clone of my beloved Fierce, with very slight differences: a touch more citrusy, soapy, and metallic, but it doesn’t matter. It’s a catalog fragrance that wasn’t on my radar, full of prejudices etc., and now it has designer-level quality. Wouuu, when did they change? The issue is the price I paid versus what this L’Bel offers and its quality… so I bought 4 units. Congratulations to this catalog brand for finally making a difference in quality. They gifted it to me because they knew I liked that scent so much and went out of their way to search, read reviews, etc… it’s a made-to-measure gift.
My first fragrance, man, I didn’t know how to make the most of it. It’s an all-rounder, somewhat formal but totally versatile, a wood perfectly combined with citrus, it’s exquisite. My go-to fragrance from the day I bought it until it ran out, incredible aroma. 9/10 longevity, 8/10 projection, 7/10 blind buy, 8.8/10 price, 6.5 final note, personally I’d give it a 9.
Old batches were an excellent fragrance, but recent ones don’t have the same longevity. It used to be one of my favorites, the one I used most; however, I recently bought one and it’s not at all the same as what I used in past years. A good recommendation would be Montblanc Legend (less longevity) or Montblanc Legend EDP (greater longevity). It has an excellent and rich aroma, but I wouldn’t recommend it.
I have the new 200ml batch with the transparent bottle and it lasts very well for me, even reaching 10 hours. It’s a perfume with a very well-known (and imitated) DNA that results in a very attractive and youthful scent.
But what a gem, 4×4, versatile for all year round and all 24 hours. I bought a 200ml bottle and it always lasts on my skin between 7 and 8 hours. A 10/10, pure gem. For those who say it doesn’t last: drink plenty of water, avoid fats, alcohol, tobacco, coffee, and spices. The most important thing is that it works great at moderate temperatures, between 20 and 25 degrees.
From the first spray, it wraps you in fresh and citrusy notes, especially bergamot and lemon, combined with a spicy ginger touch. Over time, the heart reveals a woody and floral mix with sandalwood and jasmine, giving it a deeper, more masculine vibe. It smells great, but its longevity isn’t the best and it tends to fade in a few hours. It’s ideal for daily use and casual occasions where you want something fresh and masculine, but you might need to reapply during the day. The bottle is simple and practical, perfect for someone who wants something that works without complications.
Just got a new batch and the performance is brutal, you can tell. It lasts over 7 hours and projects like crazy for the first two hours with just ten sprays. Hard to compare it to Montblanc Legend EDP even though they share notes: Fierce is fresh, sharp, and citrusy, while Legend is denser and soapy. Legend lasts longer on the skin but doesn’t project at all in comparison. In terms of scent, I prefer the A&F cologne. The Legend EDT, which I’ve tried several times, doesn’t last at all and is gone from the skin after two hours.
A classic that I’ve always loved. I used to go to Stradivarius just to smell the air (they use it as an air freshener). I remember paying over €120 for 50ml when it was hard to find; now I got it for under €50 for 100ml. Girls love it; I see it as fresh, sexy, and very versatile, though in the dead of winter with the cold, something spicier is better.
Since I’d already smelled it before in a cheap body spray at a flea market and never really liked it, I associated it with that low-end body scent, so… meh. I suppose it’s not my type, but it smells good. On a scale of 1 to 7, the minimum passable, I’ll give it that. It looks nice, I’d finish the bottle, but I’d mix it with something else.
It’s a blast—mid-range price and incredible quality. Fresh and very attractive. Less common than Aqua di Giò, Issey Miyake, or Clinique’s Happy… and better, though Aqua di Giò is also a winner, just more expensive.
Honestly, Benetton United Dream Aim High is very similar; I’m not sure if it has some Montblanc Legend in it, but to me it smells like that Aim High from Benetton.
Just got it, and honestly, it doesn’t last more than a few minutes. The old bottle lasted over eight hours on my skin; this one doesn’t even reach two.
It’s the go-to perfume for people without personality. It smells masculine, sure. But it’s the classic aroma you’d find on any average guy. Boring, nothing interesting about it.
This morning I was at a shopping mall. As I walked down a hallway, a lady next to me asked, ‘What perfume are you wearing?’. I smiled and told her Fierce by Abercrombie. She said it smelled great. I didn’t even smell the fragrance on myself anymore, but that’s its magic: its scent, which seems to have faded, always lingers during important moments of approaching someone, and I like that. It invites people to get closer. It’s not an off-putting smell; it comes in short but confident bursts that are perfect. I won’t say more, for me it’s the best fragrance—fresh, sexy, clean, and the drydown is exquisite and addictive. Ladies come up to sniff it and ask what I’m wearing. Maybe because it’s masculine, it smells like a man but not an older man, more like a clean man. I don’t know why, but I always come back to it.
Ultra-fresh, clean scent that smells a bit basic, but it’s really easy to wear, perfect for enjoying after a shower or at the office. It gives off a very clean vibe. The downside is the longevity is non-existent; maybe two hours on clothes and less on skin. It’s not worth the price; Mont Blanc Legend Negro EDP is a thousand times better.
I haven’t touched perfumes in about six years, surely the pandemic played a role. Now that I’ve regained my interest, I’ve stumbled into the vast unexplored world of Arab scents and my mind is blown. I went back to my old bottle of Fierce and now it seems so flat, so simple. Back then it was something special, but now I feel it’s missing something. What I figured out was using it for layering with other perfumes to boost it. The best combo has been with Qaed al Fursan, which adds that sweet, long-lasting pineapple note to Fierce’s woody base.
Basic and masculine fragrance, easy to like in my opinion.
