About Fables d’Orient L’Extrait
Fables d'Orient L'Extrait: A Modern Oriental Tale
L'Artisan Parfumeur unveils Fables d'Orient L'Extrait, a new fragrance that weaves a story of light and shadow. Created by Christophe Raynaud, this extrait de parfum is a unisex composition that balances fresh aldehydes with warm amber and smoky incense.
From the first spritz, the scent opens with a burst of sparkling aldehydes, evoking a sense of clarity and airiness. As it settles, the heart reveals a rich, golden amber that wraps the skin in a comforting glow, while the base introduces a subtle veil of incense that lingers with a mystical allure.
The composition is a masterclass in contrasts. The aldehydes provide an unexpected freshness that cuts through the heaviness of the amber and incense, creating a luminous effect. This is not a typical oriental; it's a modern interpretation that feels both ethereal and grounded.
Christophe Raynaud, known for his ability to blend classic and contemporary elements, has crafted a scent that evolves beautifully over time. The opening is crisp and almost effervescent, like a whisper of morning air. Then, the amber takes center stage, adding depth and sensuality without being overpowering.
The incense in the base is not the churchy, resinous kind; it's more like a delicate smoke that dances on the skin. It adds a mysterious, almost spiritual dimension, making the fragrance feel intimate and personal. The overall effect is a harmonious balance between brightness and darkness.
Fables d'Orient L'Extrait is an extrait de parfum, which means it has a higher concentration of oils, resulting in exceptional longevity and sillage. A few sprays are enough to last through the day, leaving a subtle trail that invites closer inspection. It's a fragrance that commands attention without shouting.
The bottle design, though not described, likely reflects the brand's aesthetic—elegant and understated. The name 'Fables d'Orient' suggests a tale from the East, and indeed, this perfume tells a story of ancient trade routes, spices, and the allure of the unknown.
Overall, this is a versatile fragrance that can be worn in any season, but it truly shines in cooler weather when its warmth is most appreciated. It's a great choice for both day and evening, and its unisex nature makes it a beautiful addition to any collection.
This fragrance will appeal to those who appreciate complex, evolving scents with a modern twist on classic orientals. It's perfect for someone who enjoys unisex perfumes that balance freshness with depth, and who values quality and craftsmanship. Ideal for both men and women who want a signature scent that stands out.
Fables d'Orient L'Extrait is a captivating addition to L'Artisan Parfumeur's lineup. With its unique blend of aldehydes, amber, and incense, it offers a fresh perspective on the oriental genre. It's a fragrance that tells a story, and one that will likely become a favorite for those who wear it.

Curious blend of a clean, metallic, vaporous, and aldehydic part in the style of Reflection, with warmer and heavier notes, dominated by incense, which do not impose themselves on the former; I have never smelled anything like it. More masculine than feminine, formal occasions, for cool nights of intermediate seasons, I see better options for winter. It is a vaporous perfume, with good longevity and sillage; its great but is the price.
