  • Tested on blotter. The opening doesn’t differ much from the non-Elixir version, with that classic Aventus, Vibrant Leather, etc. vibe. The distinction comes in the dry-down: patchouli, amber, and vetiver give a deep, dark, truly earthy aroma, with some moisture, as if you dug into the soil to the vetiver root, but without losing the smoky pineapple in the background. It’s an intense dry-down that you might like or not, so don’t buy based solely on the opening. If you like the original, you’ll probably like this, but keep in mind it’s a more mature vision. Given the persistence on the blotter and how it fills the room even two days later, longevity and projection must be notable.

  • It didn’t work for me at all. I agree with my friend about the opening, very similar to the essence eau de parfum with a slight Aventus touch. But the dry-down is a disaster: both times I tried it, I had to wash my arm. It smells like that nauseating, shrill, ultra-chemical/sickly sweet scent found in clothing stores like Alvaro Moreno. Very annoying, ultra-synthetic, with no detectable notes, just a sweet-woody blend that smells radioactive. It doesn’t resemble Hacivat or Aventus (except in the first few minutes), only Alvaro Moreno or Spagnolo on skin. Try it before buying and let it dry properly for a while. Miaoewe.

  • I didn’t like it at all. I agree with the previous reviewer on the opening, very similar to Essence EDP with a slight Aventus vibe. But the dry-down is a disaster: both times I tested it, I had to wash my arm. It smells like that nauseating, shrill, super-chemical/sweet shop scent from places like Alvaro Moreno. It’s ultra-synthetic, with no detectable notes, just a sugary woody blend that feels radioactive. To me, it doesn’t resemble Hacivat or Aventus (except at the start), only Alvaro Moreno or Spagnolo in the dry-down. Test it on skin and wait a long time to see the dry-down. Miaoewe.

  • 12 voted ‘Moderate Price’. Is it full of millionaires or a test of ‘herd mentality’ psychology? Those ‘moderate’ C…s.

  • It’s a reinterpretation of Aventus, Zara Vibrant Leather, and other essences, giving it a more mature, dense, dry, earthy, and slightly smoky touch. Performance is top-notch; it lasts a long time on both men’s and women’s skin. That said, the price seems outrageous because we all know the base, even if some extra brushstrokes make it decent. If you find it at a reasonable price, it’s not bad.

  • I tried La Verdad and it reminded me a lot of Hacivat, a rich scent from the very first second. Just that it’s for the knowledgeable; to the inexperienced, it might seem strong or weird. Don’t buy blindly; test on blotter because body chemistry varies a lot with pH. Where it’s sold, it’s too expensive for a non-premium brand; I prefer Hacivat for packaging, prestige, scent, projection, and longevity. I give it an 8.5, and it stays low only because of the price.

  • Here’s the deal: now Loewe is emulating the most successful niche, Aventus, and another great chypre-fruity interpretation, Hacivat. The resemblance is direct: acidic, citrusy opening, drying down to earthy while keeping the citrus shine sweetening into amber. The listed notes don’t do it justice; there’s way more. Oakmoss is obvious, pineapple just like in the EDP. Performance similar to early versions, noticeable without being overwhelming. It’s elegant, serious, and well-executed, though similar to other more original perfumes. It shows Loewe stopped pulling its own cart and jumped on a luckier one. Recommended, but at this price, I won’t switch from the original EDP. Essence remains the house’s best line, even if its DNA is copied. Versatile, pleasant, and mature—fresh yet earthy with darkness. Its only hurdle is the price, which seems tied to the word ‘Elixir’.

  • 12 people voted ‘Moderate Price’. Does this smell like a full wallet or is it typical groupthink? The so-called ‘moderate’ prices.

  • Here’s the deal: Loewe has in its windows a perfume emulating the most successful niche, Aventus, and another with Hacivat. The resemblance is obvious: acidic, citrusy, sharp opening, ending in an earthy dry-down that doesn’t lose the citrus shine, just sweetens into amber. Like the original launch, the listed notes don’t do justice; they’re scarce and incomplete, whereas here there’s much more. Oakmoss is as obvious as the grapefruit, and pineapple has the same presence as the EDP. Performance is similar to early versions, noticeable without being overwhelming. It’s elegant, serious-cut, recognizable, and well-executed, though similar to more original perfumes. It hints that Loewe stopped pulling its own cart and jumped on a luckier one. Recommended, but at this price, I won’t switch from the original EDP; it remains the house’s best-scented line, even if its DNA is faked. Versatile, pleasant, more mature than the EDP, all-terrain because it’s fresh yet earthy with darkness. The only hurdle is the high price, which seems tied to the surname ‘Elixir’.

  • The truth: I respect everyone’s tastes, but I HATE this. It’s cloying, explosively raw, lacking delicacy or subtlety. No evolution here, just a field of herbs and smoke from start to finish. Seems like a waste at an art-piece price. I’d choose Essence EDP a thousand times over, even if it were free.

  • I tried it because I adore Loewe Essence EDP and wouldn’t trade it for this. It’s just too cloying.

  • Green and dark. Starts fruity but quickly turns earthy, like grabbing wet soil with roots and moss after an autumn rain. Then it rises into wood and incense with a smoky touch. It’s nocturnal, serious, and full of personality. Lasts 6-8 hours; projection drops after 3 hours, though I sometimes catch it the next day. Reminds me of Essence EDP.

  • LoewePh64

I tested it on blotting paper and didn’t like it. I tested it on skin yesterday, a small spray on my left wrist, and… even worse, it gave me a headache. But without offending anyone, someone must have liked it to approve its launch.

  • Pabloufum

Do you like this fragrance but think it’s too expensive? Try Supremacy Not Only Intense by Afnan… Let me just say you get 1/4 of the price of the Loewe.

  • LoewePh64

I tried it on blotter paper and didn’t like it. Yesterday I tried it on skin, a small spray on my left wrist, and… even worse, it gave me a headache. But to no one’s offense, I’m sure someone liked it enough to approve its launch.

  • Perfumon! Yes, it’s expensive, but the scent is a treat, like taking the Essencia EDP and darkening it by adding greener, more mature touches. Performance is insane; 12 hours later, you still get bursts, and it remains on the skin, a bomb. It beats the EDP, which I also own. The price is high, but if you get it on sale or hunt for a deal, it’s worth it; I bought the 100ml for 65€ and feel like it’s a steal. I see it for people 25 and up; I can’t imagine a young kid wearing it—it has a lot of gravitas and makes a statement. It has an air of Supremacy Not Only Intense, but the quality is light years apart; I finished selling my Supremacy because the aroma had typical Arabic perfume notes that become unbearable once you’ve tasted good things. Versatile except in extreme heat, since it’s dense and can be overwhelming; ideal for spring or cool summer nights.

  • What a beast! Yes, it’s expensive, but the aroma is delightful, like taking the Essence EDP and darkening it with riper green touches. Performance is insane; you get bursts even at 12 hours, and it stays on the skin, man, it’s a bomb. It outshines the EDP, which I also owned. The price is high, but if you can get it on sale or find a good deal, it’s worth it; I bought it for 65€ for 100ml and feel like it’s a steal. I see it for people 25 and up; I can’t imagine a young guy wearing this scent—it has a lot of presence and makes an impact. It has some air of Supremacy Not Only Intense, but the quality is light years ahead; I ended up selling my Supremacy because the aroma had typical Arabic perfume notes that become unbearable once you’ve tasted good scents, I couldn’t handle it. Versatile except in extreme heat since it’s dense and can be overwhelming; ideal for spring or cool summer nights.

  • A ‘tightened’ version of the Essence EDP. Darker, denser, greener, woodier, earthier, smokier, ambered, and more accorded than the original. Less citrus and less transparent. I like its dry-down much more; it moves to a sweet-smoky phase that I adore. A sweetness like ripe fruit, not chemical or commercially vanilla-like. When I first tried it, I made a mistake by spraying it on my aluminum watch strap, and it’s been lingering on me for days. It projects and lasts incredibly well; if you’re not careful with the sprays, you and everyone around you will be overwhelmed. It’s an adult, mature, serious, and unique fragrance. It moves away from the commercial profile similar to the Aventus EDP to create something more particular. I wouldn’t be surprised if it causes disruption in your circle. It’s pricey, but at 50ml for 70 euros… it could be a good option for EDP users looking for something more noticeable for important and formal events. If you factor in quality and longevity, the 50ml will last you. I love it, despite how boring and less versatile it might seem. It’s a good perfume.

  • A ‘tighter’ version of the Essencia EDP. Darker, denser, greener, woodier, earthier, smokier, ambered, and more incense-like than the original, with less citrus and less transparency. I like its dry-down much more; it shifts to a sweet-smoky phase that I adore. A sweetness like ripe fruit, not chemical or commercial vanilla. When I tested it, I made the mistake of spraying the aluminum strap of my watch, and it’s been ruined smelling like it’s been days. It projects and lasts a ton; if you’re not careful with the sprays, you’ll fall over backward, you and everyone around you. It’s an adult, mature, serious, and quirky perfume. It moves away from the commercial Aventus EDP profile to create something more particular. I wouldn’t be surprised if it causes disruption in your circle. It came out expensive, but considering 50ml are now 70€… it could be a good option for EDP users who want a more noticeable version for important events. If we factor in liquid quality, projection, and longevity… those 50ml will last you. I love it, despite how tacky and unversatile it might seem. It’s a good perfume.

  • Loewe remembered too late to make an Aventus clone; it’s no coincidence that the multinational destroying the perfume industry bought both houses and now all their perfumes look alike. The scent is an ‘ambered Aventus.’ The notes are misleading; it doesn’t have those three accidental notes but is more complex with good evolution. The opening is 95% identical to Supremacy Not Only Intense (owning both seems irrelevant), which grates on me given Loewe’s price, more than double. While I love this DNA, the purchase is hard to swallow. I’d dare say it’s as synthetic, with something that makes my nose itch, whereas the Afnan doesn’t, only in the first few hours; once dried down, you can perceive more quality, with plenty of well-blended amber. Overall, it’s a clone of the well-known Aventus, with better longevity, sillage, and quality not very different from what the English house is trying to sell us today. Both houses bought by LVMH—the joke tells itself…

  • Loewe and how to become a niche house without blinking… I won’t say much about this fragrance; it seems like ‘Essence Parfum’ but rougher, with an amber note and better longevity. It still feels very Creed Aventus, part of the endless clones… What I want to highlight is Loewe’s abusive pricing on their latest fragrances. They have quality, but there are hundreds of identical ones for under 50€. The house has become almost niche with fragrances that don’t always deserve it. It’s incredible how it jumps to over 100€ for what it is.

  • Beware of comparisons with Afnan Supremacy Not Only Intense. They do resemble each other, but they aren’t the same. First, due to ingredient quality, and second, regarding longevity, where Loewe wins, even though it costs nearly three times as much. It’s like thousands of cases where an Arabic house makes a perfume inspired by a Western one: the scent is almost identical, but the nuances always differ.

  • I’ll be direct without analyzing the opening, evolution, or dry-down. It’s a real SHAME. In Loewe’s eagerness to transform its line into a niche house, unifying packaging and wasting money on cardboard boxes, they created a deceptive concoction. Essence Pour Homme is good, and the eau de parfum is a well-judged evolution, but THE ELIXIR IS A DISASTER. It has nothing to do with its roots, and they used the term ‘elixir’ to put an outrageous price on something that doesn’t respect previous quality and is truly bad. I’ve received bad reviews and got rid of it. Don’t let yourselves be fooled. Best regards.

  • Let’s get straight to the point: without even analyzing the sillage, evolution, or projection, this is a real SHAME. In Loewe’s attempt to transform their line into niche by unifying packaging and wasting money on cardboard, they’ve created a deceptive fragrance. Essencia Pour Homme is good, and the Eau de Parfum is a smart evolution, but the ELIXIR is a DISASTER. It has nothing to do with its roots; they used the term ‘elixir’ to slap an outrageous price tag on something that doesn’t respect previous quality and is simply bad. I’ve received negative reviews and got rid of it. Don’t let yourselves be fooled.

  • I own the EDP version and can confirm it’s not the same, though it reminds me a lot of Afnan’s Supremacy Not Only Intense—it’s almost identical, but the Afnan lasts longer. It feels like an Aventus DNA with a hint of axe, yet it doesn’t fully become either. I’d say it’s basically Supremacy Not Only Intense.

  • vladidelmundo

Much more synthetic than the EDP, less green and less fresh. It feels like a 30-euro Arabic perfume. I expected a greener twist that would give it personality and make it unique, separating it from being a simple Aventus clone at an insane price.

  • molletmod.73

Everyone who was copying Creed Aventus is now adding fruits and patchouli and heading toward Nishane Hacivat or Mancera’s Cedrat Boisé. Pure capitalist perfumery iteration. Insane prices.

  • Jorge Blanco

The fragrance is very good, and I think there’s unjustified hate, perhaps due to the price? It’s similar to the EDP but more punchy. The citrus opening with lavender is more concentrated and persists throughout the development, though the dark, earthy side gains ground over time. After two hours, it’s balanced, very formal, and suitable for all weather, keeping the citrus and lavender. You have to try it to see which you like more, the EDP or the Elixir. I prefer the EDP, but this one seems outstanding too. Having both seems redundant to me.

  • Jorge Blanco

The scent is top-tier, though there’s a lot of unfair anger about it—maybe due to the price? It resembles the Essence EDP but is sharper. The citrus-lavanda opening is very concentrated and lasts through the entire development, though over time the darker, earthier notes take over. After two hours, it’s balanced, very formal, and works in any weather while keeping the citrus and lavender. You have to try it to see which you prefer, the EDP or the Elixir. I prefer the EDP, but this one is outstanding too. Having both seems redundant to me.

  • Exact clone of Tiziana Terenzi’s Orion. The scent is identical, tested on blotter and skin, though I doubt it has the same longevity as the niche version. I was surprised by how potent it is and the good fixation. It’s almost 100% the same fragrance as Orion, very good.

  • It’s a flat fragrance, and I’m glad it is; it’s a very rich and elegant smell. I’ve used it as a decant and really enjoyed the experience. But I wouldn’t buy a large bottle; it seems expensive for what it is; I’d go for the 7 Cobalt instead.

  • They gave it to me for my birthday. I left it in a Loewe bag with sulfur paper or onion for a few days and sprayed cheap perfume on it; the room was filled with a wonderful spicy scent, wow! When I returned from my trip, I tried it again, and it’s true that it resembles Creed Aventus. However, I own the Spirit of King and the original, and they all evolve differently, even the same perfume on different people. Conclusion: highly recommended. I’d even recommend Loewe over the original Aventus because it lasts longer on me, though I insist they are different, just like their prices.

Esencia Elixir isn’t a bad perfume, but it disappoints because it feels more like a clone of the Aventus vibe than something especially interesting. The citrus top note leaves me a bit cold, similar to the Creed. Then, in the dry-down, the vetiver and patchouli play better, but that’s about it. What’s objectively criticizable is the price: I’ve seen 100ml for €140. I don’t think anything justifies that, not even because it’s an ‘Elixir’. I’m not a fan of the Aventus wave, but more sensible buys are the Montblanc Explorer for €30 or some of Armaf.

  • Loewe returns to the essence of before. What a pity how you destroy iconic perfumes with updates and rebranding. I’m a firm defender that perfumes shouldn’t be reformulated to the point where they no longer resemble the original. That’s the charm, in preserving a unique composition. Nowadays, most commercial perfumes all smell the same.

  • Loewe returns to the original essence. It’s a shame you’re ruining legendary perfumes with updates and rebranding. I believe perfumes shouldn’t be reformulated until they lose the identity of the original; that’s where the magic lies, preserving a unique composition. Nowadays, most commercial perfumes all smell the same.

  • I love it. It’s super versatile and works well at any time of day or temperature. It lasts a long time, lingering on clothes for several days, and has excellent sillage and projection.

  • I haven’t tried Creed Aventus, but I’ve heard this one smells better and they are very similar. On my skin, it lasts 8 to 12 hours and has that quality of lingering quietly before suddenly releasing intense bursts. It’s quite linear without major twists, but the dry-down is delicious. I perceive moss, incense, a bit of patchouli, and earthy notes; at first, it smells like crushed wet grass. It’s become one of my favorites, hard to beat. I appreciate opinions and corrections.

  • Loewe Esencia Elixir smells like a forest, pine, and patchouli with mossy and smoky undertones. It’s the quintessential scent for the elegant, formal gentleman. It remains consistent from start to finish, with no surprises, making it perfect for the office or evening outings in any season. I’d say it appeals more to a mature crowd than a younger one. The longevity is brutal, lasting nearly 12 hours, though the sillage is discreet; in elegance, you don’t need to shout, but you also shouldn’t stay skin-scented. A very good fragrance from Loewe. While the official price is high, it’s worth trying.
