Share what you noticed: opening, drydown, sillage and the moments when it works for you.
Don’t trust the official pyramid. For me, the opening is very similar to the original, just a bit fresher (maybe a placebo effect from the geranium). The truth is, it smells less like an old man. Surprisingly, it lasted almost 12 hours on me, though the projection is moderate and it fades to skin scent by the end.
Ellena always gets it right and lately has been focused on modernizing Hermès classics. While it ultimately comes down to personal taste whether you prefer these versions or the originals (which have also been reformulated), I think this is a great way to update fragrances worn by generations by adding just one or two notes, like what happened with Bel Ami and its vetiver. Here, the geranium takes that role. The perfume remains very rugged and faithful to Equipage, very pleasant. I wouldn’t wear it for dinner, but it’s perfect for mornings and afternoons, ideal for fall and winter without giving up on spring. Very masculine. The countryside walk still holds up in this version.
