Drago Nero is a truly special fragrance. For me, it has three main stars: pineapple, clove, and ambergris, wrapped in secondary notes that add nuance, density, and complexity. Apple, iris, orange blossom, vetiver, and especially sandalwood as it dries down, give this Mark Buxton creation a special quality—a perfumer I’m coming to love more each day. I understand the comparisons to Aventus, but be careful: they are very different compositions. Drago Nero is much spicier, denser, and more evolving. Beyond the pineapple, apple, and ambergris, the scents are totally different. This Drago Nero has great performance on my skin (around 8 hours) with moderate projection and sillage. It’s worth noting that it’s one of the fragrances people ask about most, so if you love compliments, this is a solid choice. Highly recommended for spring, summer, and fall; for winter, I see better options for this type of scent. Alongside Mare Pacifico and Notte Bianca, it’s my favorite from the house.
