    The opening is horrible; I’m not sure if it’s the iris or the juniper, but then something wonderful happens. I was surprised that a Morillas fragrance disappointed me at first. It transforms into its heart and base into an incredibly rich aroma; that sudden change is surprising and it smells great for hours. The violets and jasmine are intoxicating. Buy it blind because I was scared at first, but then it captivates.

  • DKNY Men 2009 is a vibrant fragrance with great energy, blending vegetal and aquatic notes that shine despite a strong opening. The magic happens within five minutes: it evokes New York after a summer rain, refreshed with scents of Central Park and the Hudson. It’s well-constructed, featuring a floral bouquet over a lily root touched by iris, all wrapped in a vetiver-cardamom accord with subtle sweetness that gives it an ozonic touch; the result is a semi-sweet floral-vegetal scent. It lasts over six hours with attractive green-floral heart notes. It’s curious that everyone loves it, perhaps due to that vegetal sweetness or because it reminds people of Aqua di Gio without the citrus. I prefer it because it’s less overused, though I also adore AdG. It’s not for cold weather, but it’s perfect for outdoor weddings or the office on sunny days. It has a low profile but lots of brightness, conveying confidence and transparency—ideal for a first date or a professional commitment without high formality. Its best season is from spring to early fall. As a fun fact, some sellers ask crazy prices, but it’s easy to find until 2018. I got the 30ml version with a well-made bottle and a very comfortable metal cap. Highly recommended for turning heads.
