Dance Midnight by Shakira

Bought it blind and… I liked it! I had doubts because I hadn’t tried it or known what it would smell like; I bought it because I’m a Shakira fan and it was one of her bestsellers. At first, when I applied it, I didn’t quite like it; to my nose, it seemed too strong, not fruity or sweet (which I prefer), so I thought about keeping it just for collection. However, I decided to give it another chance and wore it on a cold, windy day, and I must admit I was surprised by the different scent it took on in that weather, as if it fused. I read several negative reviews about longevity, but on me, it lasted over 5 hours and got impregnated into my clothes; I don’t know if it’s my pH, but it did last on me. I perceive the aroma as sweet; at the start, I only noticed the pink pepper, and as it dried, it smelled like cocoa and vanilla. Longevity: 8/10, Sillage: 7/10.

It’s 80% similar to Good Girl, especially in the opening where you notice the freshness of bergamot and the fruitiness of the pear. However, the similarity fades as it dries down. I find it sweeter and more caramelized than GG, and I don’t perceive its floral notes. Lasts about 4 hours with moderate projection. Very pleasant and an accessible alternative for every budget.

I tried it today at a hypermarket: it’s weak on longevity, but delicious if you like vanillas, even though it keeps fresh notes like bergamot. I don’t feel the vanilla is artificial at all, which is noticeable in others at the same price point. Great for daily wear or if you don’t want to spend much.

Sexy and super elegant at a steal of a price. One of Shakira’s gems. I own Blossom Love by Amouage, and once it dries down, it smells exactly like that amaretto note. It’s for night: picture it with a short, sparkly dress. If you wear it on skin with a breeze, the result is pure magic.

The opening is very sweet and fruity; it’s not my thing, but it improves as it dries down. It’s not a dupe for Good Girl, even though they share notes. Smells like an old-school, cheap feminine perfume with a 90s vibe. Moderate longevity and sillage.

To me, it smells like Good Girl but softer. Mostly vanilla with cocoa, though at first it’s more fruity and I don’t pick up the florals. It’s very gourmand, great value, but it doesn’t last long, like all of Shakira’s perfumes in my experience.

I didn’t like it the first two times I wore it; I smelled a lot of alcohol. I tried it again two weeks later and noticed a huge change: it smells much sweeter and more vanilla-like. It doesn’t last long, but for the price, it’s a good deal.

At first, it’s floral and vintage, but once it dries down on my skin, it turns into vanilla, cocoa, and liquor. Mmm, I really enjoy it, though it doesn’t last or project as much. Still, for the price, it’s excellent.

It reminds me a lot of Carolina Herrera’s Good Girl from the same Puig house. The bottle is gorgeous, and it’s an affordable version of the Carolina Herrera one. It has good sillage and longevity.

I find it very sweet and it doesn’t remind me of Carolina Herrera’s Good Girl, even though many say it does. To me, it smells like a men’s fragrance, but hey, everyone has their own opinion.

It has an elegant vibe at an excellent price, but it has a major downside: it doesn’t last at all. It reminds me of Lancôme’s L’VEB. Too bad about its short trail and longevity.

My first Shakira perfume and I love it! Very similar to Carolina Herrera’s Good Girl. The trail is moderate and longevity is average, but the scent is exquisite.

Delicious to me and reminds me of Michael Kors Starlight Shimmer. Lasts about 5 hours on my skin and is absolutely rich.
