At the start, leather and iris dominate, feeling very realistic, like smelling a high-quality leather wallet. The iris adds a powdery touch. Gradually, resins and vanilla emerge, sweetening the fragrance until it enters gourmand territory. The vanilla, benzoin, and tonka bean give a chewable, very pleasant vanilla scent. It lasts quite a while, though the projection is a bit weak; it would be easier to detect. It’s totally for cold weather, more suited for men, although it is unisex. It’s one of the most realistic leathers I’ve smelled, and I love the transition, even if not everyone does. I was a bit disappointed by the lack of presence, but I forgave it for its quality.
I like it. It starts with intense leather, labdanum, and iris. At first, I wasn’t passionate about it, but as it dried down, it sweetened and turned into a very pleasant leather, almost semi-gourmand. I agree with Oscar: I’m not a huge leather lover, but this one is worth it. The longevity is extraordinary. Some phases reminded me of MIP, and although I liked this one better, I found Chambre Noire more artificial. It’s high quality, for leather lovers, ideal for autumn, winter, and night.
A sensational quality leather with a powdery floral touch and a sweet, almost gourmand finish, but without smelling like dessert. It always prioritizes the leather aroma, very well-crafted and sophisticated, without resembling a wallet or a handbag. At some point, it reminded me of Bvlgari Black, but with more roundness and richness. It feels modern, compact, and potent. Highly recommended if you like leathers; it’s a total hit from Parfum d’Empire.
If it weren’t for its feminine leaning, I’d love it. As I’ve said before, leather is my favorite note because of the impact it makes. Ottoman Leather reminds me of Guerlain’s classic universe, especially due to its powdery nuances. Although it leans more feminine, the smoky touches could make it unisex. It’s a rich, romantic, and expensive fragrance, ideal for the opera or cold days. The longevity is enormous, though the projection is moderate.
It’s an intense olfactory experience with decent but intimate projection. The leather mixed with other elements gives it a unisex, different, and very sexy touch. It doesn’t ask for compliments, but if someone comes up to talk to you, it’s serious, casual, and charming all at once. It blended wonderfully with my skin.
Ottoman Leather is a fantastic perfume that, while subjective, screams quality in every note. It’s a resinous fragrance with a very subtle and elegant leather accord, true to the house’s classic style. Labdanum, benzoin, and a first-class iris stand out, creating a natural and restrained sweetness, far from today’s artificial sweeteners. It’s polished, balanced, and perfect for formal situations where you want to convey good taste without being loud.
With Cuir Ottoman, there’s no doubt: it’s a fantastic perfume. You might not love it, but everyone can see the quality oozing from every corner. It’s a resin-based fragrance, and despite the name, it has a very subtle armored character thanks to the nuances of the resins used. It carries great presence, is truly elegant, and carries that classic touch that defines the house so far. The blend of resins, with labdanum and benzoin taking center stage alongside high-quality iris, are the true stars. It deserves mention for its pronounced yet natural sweetness—extremely pleasant but far from the excessive use of Ethyl Maltol that dominates today’s market. It’s a measured sweetness that harmonizes with the perfume’s roundness, resulting in a composition that feels highly polished and balanced despite using dense materials that could easily overpower the mix. As a proper elegant fragrance, it’s not loud or attention-seeking; rather, it’s intimate, making it perfect for formal situations where you want to convey good taste. Cheers!
