It feels like what Tom Ford would have released as a niche edition of their tropical, sunny scents. It has all the genre staples: a creamy sunscreen scent, exotic flowers like neroli and ylang-ylang that evoke coconut, and a touch of sweet vanilla that isn’t overpowering. The ‘originality’ lies in the spices, which give it character and sensuality—a summer love on an Eastern beach. At first, I notice a slightly harsh note that bothers me, and the floral power doesn’t quite convince me. After a few minutes, it settles and everything clicks, thanks to the milky sandalwood and vanilla. It’s a good fragrance with quality ingredients. The downside: like other Corticchiato scents, it’s powerful but flat; it doesn’t project enough or develop as much as I’d hope. For a summer perfume, it lacks freshness; in July or August, it can feel heavy.
