Craze by Armaf

Sometimes you find a coin, right? Well, this Craze caught me off guard the moment I smelled it. Brutal quality-to-price ratio, very avo-cinnamon to my taste. At first, it’s alcoholic with cinnamon taking the lead and a super creamy heliotrope alongside bergamot, but it lasts just a breath to reveal the sweet almond in the heart (not bitter at all) and the amber with sandalwood. It’s a floral-sweet scent, not overly floral, and in the base, patchouli shows up even though it’s not on the list; that’s what I like most. Watch out, the bottle is a mess. 👀

Armaf Craze: intriguing sweetness and youthful magnetism. I bought it blind out of curiosity and didn’t like it at first. But something curious happened: every time I wear it, my partner notices it instantly and loves it. That made me pay more attention. The opening is sweet but not cloying; the bergamot barely whispers, the bitter almond is noticeable from the first minute with a creamy, peculiar touch. The cinnamon is very subtle, almost imperceptible, but it’s there like a subtle wink. It evolves into a warm base of sandalwood, vanilla, and amber. The sweetness persists with elegance. The sage, if it’s there, is a well-executed magic trick without stealing the spotlight. It has a young, mischievous soul. I don’t see it as formal or mature, but perfect for night outs or casual dates. Ideal for men aged 18 to 30 looking for something coquettish and seductive without effort. It wasn’t love at first sight, but it’s winning me over with time.

I hope it’s a bad clone of Pegasus… because it smells like vanilla and sesame, it’s terribly FOME, no style. It lacks personality and above all, masculinity. It’s not bad, but it’s not great either.

Armaf Craze isn’t for everyone, it’s not my taste, but I respect others’ opinions. I haven’t smelled Pegasus by Parfums de Marly, but where I disagree is with the claims about its similarity to Dior’s Hypnotic Poison: the vanilla note is very subtle here, and what stands out most to me is the heliotrope.

I’ve seen some really bad reviews for this perfume, but I just say that every nose and every skin is different. Depending on the climate, the scent evolves differently. I’m new to this, but my sense of smell is tuned to classify scents. I don’t believe in YouTube reviews or anyone else’s comments until I smell the fragrance myself and analyze the top, heart, and base notes. Don’t judge by first impression; you have to test it properly, and that takes time. Take Club de Nuit Intense as an example.

I bought it on a friend’s recommendation (he’s a YouTube reviewer). I used it for about a month and didn’t like it at first. However, at 4 degrees, my opinion changed completely: the performance in freezing weather makes its notes shift entirely. That’s why I recommend it for cold days; it’s sweet but not annoying or cloying like people say.

After seeing so many YouTube recommendations, I tested it before buying. Good thing I didn’t buy blind, because honestly, it didn’t convince me.

It’s incredible how pH and skin make every nose a different world, but I’m surprised by the negative comments. Maybe because I’m a woman, it works differently on my skin. I’m testing Craze and Pegasus, and from the start, they smell very similar. Also, I have Dior Hypnotic Poison, and if I compare them, they seem to be the same thing: P and HP lose intensity while Craze stays strong, with a hint of lavender emerging (and I’m not a fan). They have distinct nuances, but if you don’t test them together, you won’t notice. I like it on my skin or my partner’s, and he likes it too.

It smells excellent and lasts forever, which is a shame because it’s a pest. You put it on, and even if you shower three times, that cloying synthetic sweetness won’t come off. It’s definitely in my top 5, obviously, but it’s among the fragrances that make me gag.

It smells floral and sweet without being cloying; it’s elegant. I bought it a year ago, and two weeks later I ordered two more bottles to use as a signature and secure a damn good Bach. It’s totally versatile, elegant, and unpretentious. The longevity is extreme on skin, easily surpassing 24 hours. Another gem in perfumery, I love it. Great in cold and medium climates, though I also use it in heat by controlling the sprays. Spectacular.

Starts as a vanilla and almond cocktail with a wink of black berries and an almost invisible floral; the cumin is barely noticeable and I don’t sense any citrus. An hour in, the nut and amber kick in, clinging to the skin during dry-down with a sandalwood that intensifies until 12 or 14 hours, leaving a trail of sweet talcum before fading. I loved it. By the way, I’m surprised how many modern fragrances, whether spicy or fruity, end up equally flat; brands like Azzaro Hot Pepper, Lomani Ab Spirit of Millionaire, Armaf Craze, Guess Seductive Noir, Halloween Man, and the inevitable One Million mark that trend. The downside is you buy one for the notes and end up with several that sound alike. A couple of points for Armaf, Lalique, and Mauboussin: great value and almost zero advertising here in Chile. Good afternoon. I bought this perfume guided by positive reviews, and honestly, I feel like I lost my money. I haven’t smelled Pegasus and don’t think I will, but smelling the cap (I bought a decant) seemed terrible: plastic, spicy, and something that made me sneeze. I don’t think Pegasus smells like that, or maybe who knows. I don’t dare to resell it, exchange it, or gift it; I found it horrible. I own colognes from the cheapest to designer brands, none expensive, but all have their charm even if generic; this Armaf one disappointed me. I’ve tried Black Beast and it smells good, and I have Hunter Intense which is high quality. If you’re thinking of buying it, even if it’s cheap, I recommend testing it first; the described notes misled me and it’s nothing like I expected. Best regards.

I’ve been wearing it daily for a week, and honestly, it’s identical to Pegasus (same projection and lasts even a bit longer). I’d describe it as a creamy vanilla with a metallic touch, nothing gourmand. It reminds me of the metallic vibe of CH 212 VIP, but in a vanilla version, and from my perspective, it’s executed much better. The only caution is with your pH, as with anything containing sandalwood. You might like it more or less, but I can only count on my fingers the niche-quality fragrances under 40 dollars, and this is one of them. It’s definitely a lifetime keeper.

¡Woooaaaoow! I didn’t believe in this because it’s gourmand and I’ve had bad experiences in the past, but trying it made me fall in love instantly. The bitter almond with creamy vanilla is wow. I bought it for cold/autumn and it doesn’t smell like anything gourmand. The same day I wore it, my girlfriend and her mom said it smells exquisite and told me to wear it more. Great longevity, about 12h, top projection with a 5h halo. The price is a joke for the juice it contains. A maximum addictive aroma, I recommend it blind.

I’ve been using it for several days and now I know exactly what it is. The first thing I notice is almond, lavender, and vanilla. Being sweet, bergamot, jasmine, or amber fall into the background. The best part is the dry-down; for 35-45 euros (now discontinued), it’s worth trying. In my opinion, it’s very good and outperforms similar ones. I haven’t tried the Pegasus by PDM, but they say it’s similar; so that’s what I’ll take. It’s noticeable that it’s not niche because the performance is average. Others say 10-12h, but I get 6-7h, although you pay much less than usual. Good performance, super pleasant aroma, sweet but not overdoing it. Everyone liked it. Armaf makes good perfumes within reach of everyone, even if EDPs are still 25-35 euros, so the performance is as such. Great job, I love Craze and I encourage you to try it.
