  • Following the official pyramid: sweet rum, bitter orange, iris, cacao bean, tonka, and ebony. I liked it, though I regret that current Morillas perfumes are so skin-scented. The opening is a real rum whisper blending with orange, but it fades quickly; the star is the cacao bean, bitter and serious, nothing like a sweet candy. The iris is barely noticeable, but tonka surprises without being plastic, with hints of grass and tobacco. All of this fades before ebony takes over. Performance is decent, but the trail disappears fast. Good price, though it doesn’t reach the shine of other fragrances like Fève Délicieuse.

A night at a Afro-Caribbean bar: starts with spiced rum and a cold glass, then hits with a warm, clean floral surprise, and closes with an addictive blend of resins and guaiac wood that leaves you relaxed. Strong projection for the first four hours, then lingers on the skin with that sweet, woody feeling for much longer.

  • Impressive fragrance by Alberto Morillas, a quality stamp. It’s the mature, rested version of Man in Black, like a fine liquor waiting for the right moment to surprise. Not for 18-year-olds, but for adults who’ve left college colognes behind. You can really feel the spices, and the aged rum is a delight alongside the resins. Not for hot days or the beach, or it’ll overwhelm you; you need to know how to wear it day and night. In short, much more refined than B.M. IN BLACK: 9/10 for the scent, 8/10 for the bottle.

  • Very similar to the original, but with more body and presence. Delicious, hyper-masculine, though longevity is moderate.

  • Incredibly good and extremely addictive fragrance. Why? Maybe that tobacco note or the feeling of bitter cocoa with bitter orange, so rich. I couldn’t resist and bought the second bottle since it’s limited edition. It doesn’t compare to the new batches of the original fragrance; those last nothing. Perfect for winter and autumn. Its trail and longevity are top-notch; it lasts weeks on clothes. 100% recommended.

Runs out fast, but it’s one of the best men’s scents for fall and winter: simple, rum and spice notes, warm and huggable, with a hint of cocoa. The bottle is gorgeous, but the spray fails like the rest of the line. Longevity is decent; nothing like the current Man in Black that lasted an hour on me—this one sticks around 7 hours on skin, though it projects less. Looking for a Black Orient to compare. For me, it’s a 9/10; would be a 10 if it projected a bit more.

Fast and direct: one of the best men’s scents for autumn and winter. Loads of rum and spices, warm and huggable, exactly what you need in the cold. The combo makes it smell like cocoa. The bottle is a masterpiece, though the spray is weak like the whole line. Decent longevity, nothing like the current Man in Black normal version which lasted an hour on my skin; this one sits comfortably for seven hours, though it projects less than I’d like. Looking for a Black Orient to compare. For me, it’s a 9/10, a 10 if it projected just a bit more.
