As I tell my friends, finding niche or high-end perfumes in Cuba is a nightmare, so my collection is mostly designer, though there are brands I have a special affection for; without them, perfumery would be a different story. For years, due to economic issues, fragrances stayed stuck in local stores, making it easier to find old or discontinued batches elsewhere. While hunting for rarities for my collection, I stumbled upon this 2013 limited edition Givenchy, which I’ve read was available almost exclusively at duty-free shops. Even though I knew it would be too subtle for me, I went ahead and bought it, and here it is; honestly, I don’t think I’ll keep it because it’s too delicate. For those who don’t know it, it’s a fruity-floral blend where the opening features a hard candy or palette-like raspberry, slightly synthetic and not very sweet, more dusted by the iris and violet that appear a few minutes later and accentuate the floral notes. It has a tiare heart and dries down to a sensual musky base. The projection is extremely low, almost clinging to the skin like a moisturizer, and lasts about two or three hours unless the heat is brutal. While it could be ideal for spring-summer, I think its best use is at home or intimate gatherings where you don’t want to stand out too much. I really expected something more exclusive from a limited edition, though it might appeal to some people or a Givenchy collector fan.
What a delicious perfume, very floral. Honestly, I don’t detect the raspberry. The only issue is that it doesn’t last very long.

Oh, it’s so beautiful! As soon as the salesperson sprayed it on my skin, I was hooked. Raspberry and violet—it’s incredible. I love it because it’s delicate, subtle, and smells like childhood spring and summer. The only downside is that its trail and longevity are short, but I don’t care; I want it anyway.
