Prin Lomros is a perfumer you have to follow if you’re looking for distinct proposals with high-quality natural ingredients and exotic scents. His catalog is so vast that it’s hard for him to leave you indifferent. Seeing the notes for Arsalan, with oud and spices—ingredients the house frequently uses—I had very high expectations. My surprise was discovering that it left me cold. After a lovely opening of oud, the spices fight for the spotlight until they take over, with cumin being the most ‘overbearing’. The dry-down is that typical Prin finish, which isn’t bad, but after sampling the collection, it feels like more of the same. His proposals are brilliant, different, and challenging, but Arsalan is a fragrance you can easily skip. Cheers.
