  I just wanted to thank Hervi for his solitary and useful review. I was initially put off by the smoke aspect, but I can see it’s a plus in this case 🙂 It’s a pity I haven’t found anything readily available with a strong myrrh presence, but I’m convinced this perfume is undoubtedly good and truly ecclesiastical.

  Ma Nishtana feels like a classic, Western take on genius perfumer Prin Lomros, at least at first glance. It’s a liturgical incense that steers clear of the overly mystical, feeling more earthly and warm. At first, sweet, amber, and honeyed notes contrast with spicy resins. It reminds me of the Cuba Libre candies I used to eat as a kid and those Coca-Cola-shaped gummies… except that in just a few minutes, the perfume becomes symphonic, with an overwhelming array of nuances and notes. There’s a restrained, dusty smoke, leather, dirty animal notes (in just the right measure), and something soapy, green, and wet. There are also flowers. And there’s an exoticism, because Lomros uses a palette of spices, resins, and flowers that don’t smell European… yet the whole composition fits perfectly as a traditional European incense. If I had to compare it, it sits somewhere between Avignon on one end and Fougère Bengale, Messe de Minuit, or Shalimar on the other. Without sounding too pretentious, I believe this is the best incense I’ve ever smelled.
