Perfumer
Prin Lomros
Prin Lomros, a self-taught perfumer from Thailand, discovered his love for fragrances when he was a child, often using his mother’s perfumes. Since in Thailand there are no universities that offer perfumery courses, Prin decided to follow his other passion: film. After obtaining a master’s degree in film, Prin realized that his true calling lay in the world of aromas.
While visiting Grasse, France, for the Cannes Film Festival, Prin took short perfumery courses that further fueled his passion for the art. Upon returning to Thailand, he joined The Perfumer's World, a leading fragrance company in Bangkok, where he honed his skills before launching his own brands: Pryn Parfum, Strangers Parfumerie, and Parfum Prissana. In 2020, he renamed his creations under the name PRIN, continuing to create aromas inspired by Asian traditions, film, and style.
Prin Lomros’ handcrafted fragrances have received international recognition, winning the Art and Olfaction Awards from the Institute of Art and Olfaction in 2017 and 2018. His creations can be found across several brands, including Azman, Der Duft, Prissana, Pryn Parfum, Strangers Parfumerie, The Fragrance Engineers, and Zoologist Perfumes.
Prin’s approach to perfume creation is deeply rooted in storytelling and the art of cinematography. He begins by imagining a moving image, complete with colors, sounds, and textures, and interprets each element with notes and accords. His perfumes represent the stories he wants to tell, often incorporating Asian influences and elements, such as incense from Thai temples.
For Prin, making perfumes is another form of narrative art, even more challenging than making films. He believes that each person interprets the messages of his perfumes differently, and that the aromas belong to the audience once they experience them. His training in film studies, his love of perfume collecting, and his desire to bring his background and Asian style to the art of perfumery influence Prin’s fragrances.
