Years ago, I met this Armani fragrance; it came in a box alongside Paloma Picasso, Fidji, Lauren, and another Lancôme I can’t recall… Its scent is very intense, floral, with a woody base, very 80s style. Clearly, it smells of jasmine, orchid, neroli, and woods, very feminine and refined.

If there’s any perfume more exquisite, sensual, elegant, and enigmatic than this, I haven’t found it yet. For me, it was the best ever created. I regret its discontinuation and don’t know the reason, but it deserves a return, as it manifests the spirit of the Armani house just as much as Armani Pour Homme. I met it in college; a classmate wore it, and I could identify her in a crowd, even from a distance. I’m not an expert on notes, but it gave me a hint of fruits, flowers, and woods in an undefined blend, yet of a unique class.

  • Returning 35 years to my last review of ‘Because It’s You’ from this line. Back to a time when fragrances had character, underwent transformations on the skin, and lasted a long time. Note analysis: opening heavy on galbanum and calendula, full of sparkling aldehydes, sweet, herbal with soft mint touches. A floral chypre of its era, very narcotic and opulent. Unlike Fendi 1985, Ungaro Diva, or Gucci N3 from the decade, which lean more into rose and honey, Armani’s is more herbal, but shares that same talc-dusted, chypre DNA. When the mint and herbal notes settle, you feel the pineapple flashes that give it the sweet side. Rose starts to peek through afterward. Interesting, mysterious.

  • I still have a bottle from the 90s of this exquisite scent. There’s just over 10 ml left, and I’m saving it for something special. It’s balsamic, with enormous longevity and sillage. It was the one I wore on my night outs and empowered me. No perfume works like that anymore…

  • Smelling this familiar scent again is precious; it evokes countless memories. Every perfume tells a story, a precise moment. Those essences hold adventures and memories in elegant bottles that honor eras, movie beauties, and icons, but above all, ordinary men and women seeking an olfactory identity. The Armani by Giorgio Armani is the symbol of the 80s: the aggressive, seductive, mysterious woman of the time, the dream of all. It was expensive back then (imagine 150-200 euros today); executives, wealthy ladies, and daddy’s girls with big purses wore it, but also many who saved for years to afford it. It was the era when perfumes were real dreams. Armani was potent and left a trail in hallways and elevators for hours. It’s an elegant chypre, spiced, floral, mossy green, and almost soft at the end. That unmistakable Armani elegance that reaches immortality. It’s a floral-themed chypre, complex, rich, with a shine you won’t find in modern chypres. Opens aldehydic and green mixed with citrus, works well. What’s interesting is the contrast of calendula and pineapple in the opening that leads to a surprising development; it leaves almost visible marks, doesn’t fade quickly. Rose and neroli in the heart are phenomenal, evident but with perfect volume, top-quality ingredients. In the dry down, a woody amber with moss that softens with tonka, maintaining a substantial and long-lasting trail. Let’s admit it: from top to bottom, it’s perfect; it would do wonders for a sweet night out in the city. If you’re drawn to perfumes with a soul and a unique voice, it’s worth saving up for.

  • What a beast of a perfume. If anyone knows Giorgio, tell them to relaunch it and forget Aquas di Gio, Codes, Stronger With You, or that whole list of store fragrances that made them money but stripped away their style.
