  • I bought this for my mom for Mother’s Day, and upon smelling it, I couldn’t resist and got one for myself. I thought it would be a feminine scent since it’s labeled that way, but it’s a perfect unisex—woody-floral leaning gourmand, spectacular. It’s supported by the Oud-Vanilla-Incense trio, which is noticeable from the start, with the particularity that at first there’s a citrusy-fruit touch (I don’t detect orange) that gives the fragrance a fleeting freshness. Then white flowers like jasmine or orange blossom appear, but they don’t dominate; they just enhance the backbone of the perfume. Once that floral phase passes, the scent becomes very woody and warm, with just the right touch of musk to make it sexy, warm, spicy, sweet, and creamy. I loved it. The longevity is exceptional with moderate projection, but as I’ve said, with oils it depends on body heat, and yet it still has a palpable trail. On my wrist, it was noticeable for over 10 hours. Usage is up to each person, but generically it’s perfect for cold climates and night, though I’ll use it as needed ;o)

After researching, I saw that on the official Al Haramain website, the notes differ from those listed here: top with bergamot, orange, lime, lavender, aldehyde, mango, plum, ylang ylang, and geranium; heart with rose, geranium, orris, jasmine, ylang ylang, and amber; base with cedar, patchouli, amber, musk, vanilla, sandalwood, Gurjum balsam, and resin. They don’t list oud or incense like Fragrantica does. When writing the review, I was surprised by the oud because I didn’t feel that medicinal touch, but rather a very balsamic woody aroma, so I ruled out sandalwood and associated it with oud, the closest note according to Fragrantica. The incense is definitely present, smoky and balsamic, but now that I know the exact notes, it could be the blend of resins and Gurjum balsam. So the pillar holding the scent together, “oud-vanilla-incense,” could perfectly be “wood-vanilla-resin.” Otherwise, the scent is exactly as I experienced it on my skin. I just wanted to clarify this and leave my previous review intact, as that’s how I experienced it.

I gifted this to my mom for Mother’s Day, and upon smelling it, I couldn’t hold back and bought one for myself. I thought it would be feminine based on the catalog, but it’s an absolute beast of a unisex scent—woody-floral with gourmand touches. Its base is the Oud-Vanilla-Incense trio, which smells great from the start, though there’s an initial citrusy-fruit note (not sure if orange) that gives it a fleeting freshness. Then white flowers like jasmine emerge, but only to highlight the base. After that, everything becomes more woody and warm, with just the right amount of musk to make it sexy, spicy, sweet, and creamy. I loved it. The longevity is incredible; projection is moderate but the trail is palpable, especially since oils depend on body heat. On my wrist, it lasted over 10 hours and was very noticeable. Ideal for cold weather and night, though I’ll use it whenever I feel like it ;o)

  • Another Arabic oil that I’m obsessed with. At first, it smells a bit strong, but then it settles into a delicious scent. I love wearing it at night or in my hair; I can still smell it the next day with a trail I’m crazy about. Highly recommend. The little bottle is a marvel—I take it traveling because it’s ideal. I’ll keep exploring more from this house; the oil format seems like a great invention.

  • Atalcadita

Bought it blind because Crisindian carried it, and I was hooked. It has an oud reminiscent of my Al Haramain Sheikha, but here it’s mixed with non-citrus orange skin, a touch of incense, and a slightly chocolatey base. It’s pleasant, less potent than my Sheikha, so it’s perfect for summer. The bottle is gorgeous too.

  • Caught this oil, and wow: the orange with incense is sweet but not cloying. It’s not overpowering, softer than I expected, with notes of vanilla, musk, and sandalwood. For the price, it’s a total win. Edit: Over time, what really hits me is that smoky rose.

  • I liked this oil; I love the citrus of the orange with the incense—it’s sweet without being cloying. I don’t consider it very strong; it’s softer than I expected. I also detect the vanilla, though I don’t recognize the other notes, but the musk and sandalwood definitely stand out. For the price, it’s highly recommended. Edit: After some time of use, what stands out most is the smoky rose scent.
