Last summer in Greece, where every pharmacy stocks roll-on testers for this brand, I tried them all, but this one annoyed me because the name is misleading: ‘from the Aegean’ refers only to the name and headquarters. It starts with a cloying plumeria scent, lasts two breaths, then shifts to a powdery, very sweet musk with a caramel note that never evolves. It has poor projection and lasted about four hours on my skin. It’s great for sunny days—easy and safe—though if you’re not tolerant of sweet scents like I am, you might hate it. The plumeria and burnt sugar blend felt novel, but I wish the floral stayed longer; the caramel, combined with the powdery musk, just overwhelms me. I’d only recommend it to true lovers of sugary fragrances.
