  • It’s not as dry as the previous summer version; it’s sweeter and more acidic. The only thing holding me back is that something citrusy or acidic dominates too much, I can’t quite define it, but then it has a spectacular and sweet base. A very good fragrance, except for that rough note, though it’s ideal for hot days. Update: I smelled it again today and didn’t perceive it as acidic, more sweet. I’ll smell it again in a few days to give the verdict, but it promises well.

  • Very pleasant, it has similarities with Loewe 7, perhaps due to that common pepper note. Highly recommended; it’s not just any fresh fragrance, it has a very crisp aroma, and the bottle is gorgeous. The spicy note dominates, with mint very far in the background. It smells like freshly washed clothes for those hot days. Another one I recommend as unisex.

  • The best of all the summer versions of A*Men. First, you have to try it many times because among the summer versions, it seems like the one that lasts the least… but if you do the reset, forget classic A*Men without coffee, and you’ll perceive the summer A*Men in all its glory. It lasts, I assure you, not like Ice Men or Sunnesence, because this is another world. A 10!

  • The uncoupled version by Pistorius is finally out! It’s called Pure Energy. Let’s hope they’ve improved the longevity and scent fixation.

  • Thank you so much, gbriel! If you tell me the differences, I’ll buy it. Then I’ll give my review as it’s due. Cheers from Chile!

  • I just bought Pure Energy and I remember Pure Shot well; they’re not the same. Energy is more acidic and rough, whereas Pure Shot was less sharp and sweeter.

  • I haven’t heard of Pure Energy, so I’ll skip comparisons. I’ve read people comparing Pure Shot to Ice Men, and I disagree. In Ice Men, patchouli, coffee, and mint dominate; it’s more acidic. In Pure Shot, sweet pepper is the star; the mint is more noticeable at first but loses that typical coffee touch found in traditional A*Men and Ice Men. It’s good, different from the citrus or aquatic summer scents. Good longevity overall: about 8 hours on my skin. Sillage is moderate for the first 4 hours, then closer to the skin but still perceptible. A good option for summer.

It gives me a really curious sense of freshness. It smells good and is pleasant, but it’s nothing out of this world like the Mugler perfumes. It’s very mentholated with lots of white pepper. Anyway, I’ve never heard anything exactly like it. I bought a bottle just to complete my A*Men collection, but it’s not a scent that defines me and is definitely one of my least favorites in the collection (though I like it just the same). I wear it in summer, it smells good, and it’s very refreshing.

One of the scents that makes me feel the most pepper. Ideal for late summer or spring. It’s not aquatic or citrusy, but rather spicy-woody. It strays far from the original A*Men DNA, leaving behind the milky or overwhelming notes for something more versatile and wearable. I picked it up at a very low price in a Facebook group since it’s discontinued; I use it sparingly because I’m afraid it will run out and all that will be left is the memory…

One of the few fragrances where I can really detect the pepper. Perfect for late summer or spring, though it’s not aquatic or citrusy—it’s spicy and woody. It diverges quite a bit from the original A*Men DNA, leaving behind the milky or overwhelming notes to offer something more versatile and wearable. I bought it a while ago from a Facebook group since it was already discontinued; I don’t use it much because I’m afraid it will run out and I’ll only have the memory left.
