  • Finally landed on Fragrantica! I’ve had it since Christmas and there was a lot of buzz (no hype, no nonsense), and for good reason. My expectations were high, but when it arrived, I was a bit disappointed at first: I didn’t understand the scent, noticed a bit of burnt rubber, and few florals. Plus, I barely smelled it and it didn’t last, seeming to contradict reviews that put it in the clouds. But then things changed: it wasn’t overnight. Gradually, the scent won me over, and I started liking it more. The roughness of the rubber softened until it gave way to a subtle leather, soft powdery florals, a warm and suggestive perfume, almost skin-like, a scent meant to be embraced. Longevity increased, wrapping me in its delicate essence for many hours, how it changed! I don’t know if it was aging or what, but it was like the puzzle pieces finally clicked into place and everything made sense. A delight. I haven’t smelled the Rosendo Mateu, but I tried Isq Al Shuyuk and it’s almost identical; however, I stick with my 05, more velvety, I love it.

  • I own the original Rosendo Mateu Nº5 and both Lattafa dupes (Ishq Al Shuyuk and Ameer), but this Domino 05 is the most faithful representation of RM5, even more versatile than the Lattafa versions. It deserves two bottles at home for the scent, sillage, and spectacular price-to-performance ratio. It’s a low-cost fragrance, so the ingredients aren’t luxury-grade, but the result is so fascinating that I can layer it with the original RM5 without anyone noticing I’m wearing two sprays. Spectacular longevity, over 12 hours, and a noticeable sillage. Easy to find for €25, a steal hard to resist before they discontinue or reformulate it.

  • I own the original Rosendo Mateu Nº5 and both Lattafa dupes: Ishq Al Shuyuk and Ameer. I must say that this Domino 05 is the most faithful representation of RM5, more versatile than the Lattafa versions, and a fragrance for which I have two bottles at home because it deserves it for the scent, sillage, and spectacular price-to-performance ratio. Let’s not forget it’s a ‘low-cost’ perfume, which implies certain limitations in ingredient quality, but the result is so fascinating that it gives me the option to layer with RM5 without anyone noticing I’m wearing two sprays. Spectacular longevity of over 12 hours and a noticeable sillage. Easy to find for €25, a steal hard to resist before they discontinue or reformulate it.

  • Batch 07/24: The opening can be a bit rough, but once it dries, it’s insane: addictive, intoxicating, and surprising. It no longer carries the ’05’ in the name. Total perfume bomb.

  • Identical to Lattafa’s Ishq al Shuyukh Gold. When they make the juice, they should take advantage to bottle one first and then the other. As for its similarity to Rosendo Mateu 5, I can’t comment since I’ve never heard of it. Given the price of Domino Essence 05, I use it as a car air freshener.

I think it’s one of the most horrible perfumes I’ve ever tried. I would never wear this in my life; if you’re a beginner, have a designer collection, or are young, do not buy this under any circumstances. Many reviewers put it in the clouds. I wouldn’t even use it as a car air freshener, God forbid, you’ll kill (in a bad way) the girls with this, people will stay away. If you’re a human salmon always swimming against the current, go ahead, good luck with that. 0/10.

  • I don’t understand the negative comments. I’ve been wearing it almost daily since October and have only received compliments, from people of any gender and age. I haven’t tried the Rosendo Mateu version, but it reminds me a bit of Ultra Male for its sweetness and fresh/soapy side, though more ambered and mature, and less loud. For the price, it’s worth it 200%. It lasts and projects much more than many designer scents. I would say it’s better for cooler temperatures, but I don’t think it’s prohibitive for summer. Regarding age, I don’t see it as much if you’re very young, but I’m 26 and have received compliments from people my age.

Please, if you’re just starting out with perfumes, have a designer collection, or are young, do not buy this under any circumstances. Many reviewers put this in the clouds. I wouldn’t even use it as a car air freshener. Oh my god, you’ll kill (in a bad way) the girls using this; people will stay away. Challenging, warm, mature, and sensual, it’s addictive and eternal. Simply fantastic. Unfortunately, it’s not for everyone, just like it would be absurd to give daisies to pigs.

I haven’t tried the RM version, but it reminds me a bit of Ultra Male due to its sweetness and fresh/soapy notes, though more ambered and mature, without being as loud. • Smells like the plastic dolls my little sister used to play with; that’s all it smells like. I don’t know where they get the idea that it smells like fruit, wood, or vanilla.

  • Dirty vanilla, musky, with a hint of blond tobacco. That’s all I perceive from start to finish. And clearly, it smells like plastic dolls, the kind my sister had in the 90s. Does that smell bad? Absolutely not. It’s weird and interesting at the same time because the emotional memory takes me back to that situation, and at the same time, it brings compliments; only if you mention that connection do they realize it, so possibly in the trail and projection it smells different. After months of oxidation, the performance changed abruptly for the better, with excellent longevity on clothes and lasting more than 8 hours on skin. Try it before buying as your emotional memory might play against you.

  • It smells exactly like Rosendo Mateu 5. If you like Rosendo and don’t want to spend the money, I recommend this. At a ridiculous price, I don’t understand why six people say it doesn’t resemble it.

People have such a weird sense of smell. I don’t detect vanilla, fruit, or anything else here; it smells more like strange leather. It’s not that it smells bad, but I don’t think normal people (not perfume geeks who just want to feel understood) will like it, just like they wouldn’t like Lattafa’s Atlas. Everyone around me is gagging on that scent, so I’m pretty over Arab perfumes since none have ever worked for me. I’m not saying it’s terrible, but if you want something cheap, Dior Intense, Prada Intense, or even Zara’s Ambush are 100 times better.

  • Elegant perfume, sweet but dark, a vanilla that doesn’t cloy, with a fruity touch that softens it. It’s potent and noticeable both in the personal bubble and in the immediate surroundings. I don’t detect any citrus notes. On my skin, it lasts 8 hours perfectly perceptible, and on clothes, it lingers. I have Domino in one hand and Rifaaqat in the other; at first spray, they smell very similar, but as they dry, Rifaaqat stays darker, with its smoky vanilla hitting harder and feeling more masculine. I don’t know how the Rosendo Mateu smells, but Domino is fantastic, and for the price, I think it’s a gift for smelling different.

  • Elegant perfume, sweet yet dark, a vanilla note that isn’t cloying, softened by a fruity touch. It’s powerful and noticeable both in your personal bubble and around you. I don’t detect any citrus. On my skin, it lasts perfectly for 8 hours and lingers on clothes for days. I have it alongside Rifaaqat; right out of the bottle they smell identical, but as Rifaaqat dries down, it becomes darker with smoky vanilla that sticks around longer and smells more masculine. I don’t know how Rosendo Mateu smells, but Domino is fantastic, and for the price, I think it’s a great gift for anyone wanting to smell different.
