Totally caught me off guard; I didn’t expect such great taste. I smell suede, tobacco, and violet intensely, while the citrus is barely noticeable. At first, it’s strong, but then it softens on the skin and is a blast; very structured, powdery, and with that distinctive violet touch. Already one of my favorites, lasting about 5 hours with a noticeable trail.
Caught me off guard; I wasn’t expecting so much from its notes. It hits suede, tobacco, and violet hard, while the citrus fades into the background. At first, it’s intense, but on the skin, it becomes a blast once it softens; it’s a very structured, powdery scent with that defining violet touch. Already one of my favorites, lasting about 5 hours with a noticeable trail.
After trying Matiere Premiere’s Realista Falcon Leather, I concluded that Animalique is its older sibling, with a very subtle nod to 212 by Carolina Herrera. It’s pretty and cuddly, carrying that Byredo Bibliothèque or Eyes Closed vibe but with a bit more tartness, adding a funny smoky touch and sometimes a hint of freshly baked bread. It’s not for me, but if you’re looking for something warm, like fur and soft leather, give it a try.
After trying the real-life Falcon Leather by Matière Première, I conclude that Animalique is a sibling or child of that one, along with a very subtle hint of Carolina Herrera’s 212. It’s pretty and affectionate, carrying that Byredo stamp from Bibliothèque or Eyes Closed—slightly cherry-like—but here with a funny smoky touch and sometimes a bit of freshly baked bread. It’s not for me, but if you’re looking for a warm perfume, like soft fur and leather, give it a try.
Good performance and scent, sometimes reminiscent of Ch Men Privé but with different tones on the skin and a bit dusty; it’s unusual but smells great…
No, no, no. For me, it’s a hard no. I love perfumes with a heavy leather note. I get the concept: feminine leather, a bit muted and dusty. At first, I thought: hmm, rich, warm, deep… An hour later, I started checking to see if I’d stepped in dog poop. Oh no, it’s the perfume. Two hours in, it stinks like a cat scratched me. I wanted to go home ASAP. Now I’m washing my clothes and showering because I’ve got five comments saying a dog or something peed on me… Anyway. It smells like wet leather shoes stepped on by a cat and then a dog, with a trampled violet flower thrown in.
No, no, no. For me, it’s a resounding no. I love heavy leather scents; I get the concept: feminine, muted, powdery leather. At first, I thought, ‘mmm, delicious, warm, deep,’ but an hour later, I started checking to see if I’d stepped in dog poop. Nope, it’s the perfume. Two hours later, it stinks like a cat marked its territory. I wanted to go home as soon as possible. Now I’m washing my clothes and showering because I think a dog or something peed on me. Anyway, it smells like wet, stepped-on leather shoes, then marked by a cat, and finally by a dog, with a crushed violet stink bomb on top.
