At first, in the store, I thought it was indifferent, but when I tried it for free, I noticed that as it dried down, it became too heavy. The coffee note dominated so much that it smelled like tobacco, a horrible sensation for my taste.

A difficult fragrance for the kids… The 212 VIP Black is aimed at young people aged 17 to 27, and this perfume seems geared toward an older audience since it loses some of that characteristic sweetness of the line. It’s not a challenging fragrance, but it is difficult for its target audience. It’s coffee, leather, and something clean yet slightly dirty; at times it reminds me of the opening of Ch Privilège.

  • I bought it today, March 12. I applied it four hours ago and it’s pure bliss. The notes evolve over time and I can’t stop smelling it; I just hope it lasts longer. The salesperson told me it’s a special edition that won’t be back, so I didn’t hesitate to buy it after she recommended it. I got lucky, what a beautiful scent. The VIP Black also smells great, but as they say, every nose is a different world.

  • I bought it today, March 12th. I applied it to my arm four hours ago and… what a delight! As the notes evolve throughout the day, I can’t stop smelling it; I hope it keeps spreading that rich scent for more hours. At the store, they told me it’s a special edition that won’t come back; a salesperson recommended it, so I didn’t hesitate to buy it the moment I smelled it. I got lucky, what a beautiful scent. The VIP Black also smells great, but as they say… every nose is a different world.

A fragrance that’s hard for kids… The 212 VIP Black is aimed at young people aged 17 to 27, but in my opinion, this one is for an older audience because it loses that characteristic sweetness of the line. It’s not challenging, but it is difficult for its target crowd: it’s coffee, leather, and something clean yet dirty. Sometimes it reminds me of the opening of Ch Prive.

Tested on skin and on a swatch. It doesn’t remind me of 212 VIP Black at all. Here it’s a bit of coffee with a strong lavender, wrapped in that characteristic Carolina Herrera DNA. I feel the coffee is well in the background behind the lavender. I don’t see it being as youthful as the VIP Black line (original, Wins, Red, Smiley, etc.). I might try it again, but for now, I didn’t like it. 5/10.

Very good fragrance for weather up to 70°F (22°C); notable its resemblance to the Black version with a coffee aroma. 100% recommended.

Like all 212s, it smells artificial and medicinal. The coffee is very hidden, which is why I tested it; it’s noticeable but very faint, like it’s from far away. Its standout notes are lavender and absinthe, with vetiver in the base. It’s a strange perfume that won’t last long on the market, and its trail is intimate.

  • Very surprised with the quality, longevity, and projection. It’s delicious, opening intense like a morning espresso, with a bitter but elegant touch, perfect for a serious guy or the office. It has a shot of freshness that makes it not for everyone. It’s not the typical sweet CH scent; it’s an original flanker, interesting, with body, intensity, and depth. It’s not for everyone; I see it for men 30 and up with a serious personality. The coffee comes out intense, then leaves bitter, woody, and sometimes alcoholic notes. Scent 8, Quality 8, Projection 8, Longevity 8.

  • I took my time with this review: one of the best fragrances of the year. It opens fresh with grapefruit, you can smell the lavender and absinthe, but mostly a bitter, hard espresso-type coffee. It gives you two hours of presence, then settles into a soft, sugary aroma from the cardamom and lavender. The dry down can get cloying if you’re not used to sweetness; it’s a night scent and better in mild or cold climates. If you’re a fan of the 212 line, you’ll feel its DNA; it was my first Carolina Herrera and I was fascinated, battling for top spot with Bleu de Chanel EDT. It never fails, it captivates; pity it’s limited. If you get the chance, buy it.

  • I took the time to write this review: one of the best fragrances of the last year. The opening is fresh with grapefruit, with hints of lavender and absinthe, but mostly coffee—bitter and strong like an espresso. This combination lasts about two hours and makes a statement. After three hours, the harsh coffee gives way to a soft, sweet aroma thanks to cardamom and lavender. If you’re not used to sweetness, you might find it a bit cloying at the end; it’s a nighttime scent that shines more in temperate or cold climates. If you’re a fan of Carolina Herrera’s 212 line, you’ll feel the famous “DNA”; I hadn’t used anything from this line before, and it was my first perfume from the brand. I was so fascinated that I consider it the best in my collection (tied with Bleu de Chanel EdT). In conclusion, it doesn’t miss, offers something distinct, and is captivating. What a pity it’s limited; if you get the chance, don’t hesitate to buy it.

  • Tell me something crazy, but it smells a lot like Mancera’s Aoud Café. It has a dried coffee note, though it’s not the best in perfumery. The scent is good, with average longevity and projection.

  • It’s okay, simple and flashy like the perfume itself. Smells good, doesn’t stand out too much but still gets compliments. Lasts about six hours with one and a half hours of projection. If you can get it at a good price, it’s fine; I was expecting a mellower coffee, but here it smells like wet, used ground coffee. 7/10.

  • I love it. It’s an improved version of the original 212 VIP Black: darker, more masculine, and with more presence. It has a roasted coffee note, not sweet, which balances very well with the lavender; it’s sweet but not cloying, reminiscent of Le Male Elixir. It just lacks longevity and projection, and I wish it wasn’t a limited edition.

  • Great perfume, I love it. It’s an improved version of the original 212 VIP Black: darker, more masculine, and with more presence. It’s darker and spicier; while it’s not the best coffee scent I’ve tried, it’s very good. It’s roasted, not sweet, and balances the fragrance with lavender perfectly. It’s sweet but not cloying; I’d say it fits the Le Male Elixir style: sweet, nocturnal, and spicy. I just wish it lasted longer, projected better, and, come on, wasn’t a limited edition.
