  Literally smells like church incense and a Holy Week procession, and I love it for that. I wish the opening lasted as long as the main scent, but I’m happy with those first half-hour of beautiful, heavy, rough, slightly acidic cathedral incense—a beauty that makes you wish it would never end. After the opening, the incense remains the star but gradually loses its religious tone, becoming more common, woody, and resinous; it’s still gorgeous, just missing that extra spark from the start. The dry down is a super-soft, sandalwood-blended incense with lovely resinous nuances, clinging close to the skin, almost residual. It’s not powerful; on the contrary, it invites calm, peace, and relaxation; it’s spiritual, deep, simple, and fresh all at once. If I compare it, it’s like taking Montale’s Full Incense and adding leaden tones with a more solemn, serious character. Performance is moderate: lasts well on skin for over 7 hours, but the sillage is discreet, which is common for this type of fragrance; you can’t ask for too much. It can be worn anytime and anywhere, but it’s not for everyone; you have to really love incense in its religious form. Tested thanks to a sample from my friend Emorandeira.
