I’m starting this review with a mix of responsibility and fear, because before buying it, I searched for reviews and only found a pretty vague YouTube video with no details. As always with Lalique, everything is a surprise: it’s from the ‘Les Compositions Parfumées’ collection, a pricey private line they launched years ago as an alternative to their accessible range. Now that it’s discontinued, they’re liquidating online stock since it’s hard to find in physical stores. It’s a perfume over €200, but I got it for €47 on Brasty, and I still can’t believe it. The packaging is a padded box with meticulous side-opening; the frosted bottle is a work of art, crowned by a cap and a side charm made of leather and metal. Nathalie Lorson and Julien Pos aimed to reinvent the lavender fougère into a spring explosion. They use two unique molecules registered by Lalique: orange blossom via ‘Orange blossom petals firabs’, a co-creation with a secret ingredient; ambroxan in the heart, and exclusive patchouli in the base. With this high-quality cocktail, we have something unique that smells like death: a powerful opening of fine, elegant lavender with an undeclared mandarin, smelling like premium Sculpture. Soon, the quality ambroxan kicks in, giving it modernity—nothing like the dated classics of the 80s, it smells super current. The heart features tonka and a noticeable sweet amber. The dry-down is delicious and woody; it only declares patchouli but smells like cedar/patchouli with a very subtle vanilla touch to keep the sweetness. The vetiver is subtle, it’s there, but it’s tolerable. It’s for spring, with an explosion of nature that brightens your day, definitely cheerful. I wouldn’t wear it in hot summer due to the amber and sweetness, but in autumn (September and October in Spain), it’s a great option. Occasions: moments that make you enjoy life, not for clubs or enclosed spaces, more for outdoors or daily wear with care. Don’t wear it to the gym, because the Lalique police will come and hit you with a €50,000 vase. Conclusion: sometimes with fragrances that have no reviews, you have to take a chance; it’s better than spending more on something hyped and getting disappointed, here you discover precious worlds. Thanks for your time 🙂
