Julien Plos

Julien Plos was born in France, and since his mother was a perfumer, he was exposed to the world of fragrances from an early age. It was during his visits to Grasse, in the south of France, that he discovered his passion for natural ingredients while learning about the history and traditions of perfumery. After completing his perfumery studies at ISIPCA in Versailles, Julien traveled to England and the United States, where he embraced the eclecticism of London and New York and learned that everything is possible. In 2018, he returned to Paris and joined the prestigious perfume company Firmenich. Julien is a calm, precise, and detail-oriented perfectionist, as well as an avid sketch artist. He enjoys creating contrasts, playing with light and shadow, and sketching shapes like statues. He finds comfort in the strokes of his pencil or pen, meditating in black and white to develop an aesthetic for a new world. Julien is also passionate about basketball, a team sport that mirrors parallels with his life as a perfumer. Julien is driven by innovation, and the future of perfumery—including new technologies—fills him with energy. He uses the latest high-tech extraction methods to explore different and unexpected facets of natural ingredients. He is also fascinated by the data that allows him to understand consumer culture and predict their expectations. In his own words: "I love the thin line between light and shadow and I look to explore it in all my creations". Julien Plos resides in Paris, France, where he continues to create unique and innovative fragrances for Firmenich, based on his love of natural ingredients and his dedication to the craft.
