It’s a clean iris with a brutal dose of green apple. While I love most things from Xerjoff, this one reminds me of the cologne my friends used to wear after gym class in high school. Pity, because it doesn’t make me feel unique for a collection called “Sketchbook,” and at this price point, it just doesn’t make sense. Thumbs down this time.
Oh my god, what a perfume. Just one spray and the quality is evident everywhere. It’s not exactly new and actually reminds me of Prada L’Homme, but here Xerjoff takes it to another level with ingredients and performance that are out of this world. The apple, cinnamon, and that musky iris make it exquisite. It works for everything except very cold or hot days. The only drawback is the price… an absolute rip-off. Rating: 9.0/10.
Starting by saying this doesn’t innovate or try to grab attention, but Carbonel has done a great job. At first, the iris reminds me of several perfumes, specifically the clean, creamy version of Prada L’Homme. Here, that floral is paired with sweet, playful touches like cinnamon, a hint of apple, and pink pepper. In the dry down, it smells like Ultramale by JPG, as if Prada launched a luxury niche line asking permission from Ultramale. I love it, but the price is excessive, probably due to the exclusivity. Ideal for lovers of clean iris and the night, but it hurts the wallet. Lasting power and projection are notable. Test before buying: if there’s a good deal, go for it, but not at retail.
Good quality fragrance, but it doesn’t fit my profile. The cypress note feels too sharp or just doesn’t work for my nose, even though I enjoy it in other compositions. It opens fresh and sweet with bergamot, grapefruit, and the fruity sweetness of apple and cinnamon; that mix gives me vibes of classic One Million and Hero Eau de Parfum. After a few minutes, the sharp green cypress emerges, while the stated iris barely makes a dent in the blend. The base of musk and amber is top-notch, with a slightly woody dry down that keeps the sweetness alive. It’s a quality perfume, but it brings back memories of old acquaintances I never connected with. If you like this profile and want quality, it might interest you, but there are cheaper options that offer a similar experience. I’ll stick with other scents from the house that suit my taste better; in the end, it’s all about personal preference.
