  I tried this fragrance yesterday to see if it improved over the eau de toilette version, and nothing. I don’t smell the cinnamon I loved so much (in the EDT only in the initial phase). I find this parfum version less dynamic, more linear but more artificial, slightly more fruity, and it even reminds me of strawberry candies, without the cinnamon… a disappointment.

  There are many people with rage or hatred toward this Paco Rabanne fragrance, from which countless inferior copies are made. The truth is that the brand nailed this intoxicating fragrance (it’s normal it doesn’t please everyone, we’re all different), turning it into a classic that’s unfortunately becoming generic due to so many copies. On my skin, the ABSOLUTELY GOLD PURE PARFUM version feels like a sweet and powerful fragrance where I do notice cinnamon (full gourmand), vanilla, leather, and an oud note I can’t quite identify, where perhaps the mandarin is missing. It’s a fragrance that accompanies me all day and lasts until the next day (I wish Spicebomb had half the projection and longevity). It’s a shame it’s not available as widely as others; it’s a perfume I’d buy again without hesitation, suitable for cold climates and moderate use, since overapplication can be overwhelming due to its concentration. I insist… not everyone has the same sense of smell, skin pH, or tastes, otherwise we’d be incredibly boring. Final note: 10!!

  Personally, I found it very good. It’s very sweet, much more than its predecessor… to a point where it doesn’t quite define itself as masculine or unisex. But it’s delicious. Although on my skin the sillage was less than the 1 Million, I recommend it 8/10 if you like a sweet scent that attracts women a lot. It’s warm and sweet, ideal for winter and evening wear.

  1 Million Absolutely Gold is less sweet, more masculine, dark, and pleasant. Longevity is well above average, and projection is good for its concentration. It’s less synthetic than the EDT; in my opinion, quite decent for a mass-market brand. It’s a better-mixed oriental. It seems to have lots of leather and some oud, plus I detect a very pleasant rose that adds elegance and makes it less ‘flashy’ than the EDT. All the notes blend perfectly (mandarin, pepper, absolute rose, cinnamon, and iris) creating an outstanding oriental. In short, it smells very ‘golden’. Along with One Million Prive, these are my two favorites, so different. Absolutely Gold brings out the best in the EDT.

  If you like men’s perfumes that completely veer into feminine territory, this is one of them. It’s 100% feminine and delivers excellent performance.
