It’s a smoky rose with an oriental vibe. At first, it’s strong, sweet, and a bit ‘dirty’ or animalic, like it has oud and a touch of toasted almond; I didn’t notice the coconut. After 30 minutes, it softens into a warm, ambered rose nestled among fine woods, leather, and smoky vanilla. It’s unisex, mysterious, and dense. It smells sweet without being over the top or too opulent, so I think it’s versatile if you like this accord. Ideal for autumn/winter. Medium-to-high projection for the first hour, then a soft but present sillage. Lasts about 6 hours on skin and longer on clothes. It’s the best from Commodity Expressive on my skin. I love it, and even though I already have roses in my collection, I don’t rule out buying it.

I love it, and even though I already have roses in my collection, I won’t hesitate to buy it.
I was surprised to like it because I hate roses, but here it’s so deep it smells like a real petal. It really impacted me. ‘Velvet’ opens with clove, toasted almonds, and smoky notes. It evolves into a warm, deep rose that pairs beautifully with spiced vanilla and amber. More than velvet, it reminds me of Turkish delights. The drydown is very woody but well-blended, everything dancing in sync. It’s soft, mysterious, dark, sweet, velvety, comforting, and seductive. A unisex-leaning feminine scent for autumn/winter. Soft sillage and medium longevity. It’s similar to ‘By the Fireplace’ but with rose and almond, less smoky and woody, and a bit sweeter. I like both, but since I already own ‘By the Fireplace,’ which projects more and feels more like me, I wouldn’t buy this one.
Didn’t expect it to be sweet, and it isn’t. Right out of the bottle, it smells very smoky, like incense, but as it dries down I notice dark rose, vanilla, and woods; I ended up liking it much more. It feels velvety, you know? It smells unique, mysterious, and rich, but I’m not sure if it’s for me.
