EDITED: At first, I thought this was trash—a super dark, almost bruised rose. I tested it three times and tossed it aside. A year later, late summer, I pulled it out again and thought it was amazing. It has a more mature rose than I usually like; it reminds me of Guerlain’s Black Perfect, though now it sounds more like Escada’s Especially Elixir; it’s not a copy of either, but it’s in that ballpark. I didn’t get the sparkling lychee opening I expected; it smells more like dusty rose, a bit earthy with a sweet touch, but it’s more floral than sweet. It projects for an hour and lasts about four hours on skin, which is average for my EDTs. I wouldn’t buy it blindly unless you’re a rose fan and looking for something different from Idole or Choe. I bought it cheap and don’t know if it’s still available everywhere, but if you catch it on the resale market at a good price and you like Avon perfumes, give it a try, but it’s not worth paying a premium for being discontinued. It’s a very soft perfume that doesn’t last long on my skin. You can smell the roses, but the vanilla is truly lost as a base note. The lychee is noticeable in the opening, it pairs well with the rose, and the overall scent is quite warm, nothing fresh. It’s affordable, though it lacks significant projection and longevity.
