To my personal taste, it’s super rich with an amazing trail and lasts on my skin for about 6 or 7 hours. Super soft; you can wear it all day smelling like jasmine and also like a baby. I love it! It’s one of my favorites!!
I never write negative reviews, but I think we need to talk about this perfume and critique it a bit. What comes to mind is this image: all the women’s perfumes in the world crammed into one bottle, and that’s not a good thing. It’s the sugary, idealized illusion of what a woman is—an embrace of her ‘nature’ as seductive, feminine, compliant, reductionist, and self-flagellating (because to the nose, it’s torture) in her extreme need to smooth her silhouette to fit beautifully into the concept of femininity. It’s an aroma that generates no emotions in me, takes me nowhere, offers no fantasy, comfort, or pleasure. It hasn’t been able to touch any fiber of my being (and many others’). More than ‘LIBRE’, I think it’s an aroma caged in the terrible curse of women’s and men’s perfumes: they’re made to satisfy certain collective fantasies of beauty and attractiveness rather than please their wearers. I think women are conditioned to think these scents are pleasant and desirable. As for the scent itself: it’s a nightmare that repeats in different forms and moments of life—a candied vanilla in acrylic and silicone, the orange blossom is bitter oil mixed with some kind of industrial chemical, the white flowers are preserved in some kind of perfumed liquid, and the lavender struggles to escape through any of the holes left in this terrible jungle of notes fighting for dominance. I can’t say it wasn’t made with love because I have no idea, but it’s a totally cold, unfamiliar, aggressive, plasticized, and nauseating aroma.
I have samples of both the EDT and EDP. The EDP seems very similar to the EDT, just a bit sweeter. It gives me a headache and makes me feel nauseous. What I perceive most is vanilla and lavender. I see it as unisex with good projection.
Smells like an old lady.
It reminds me a bit of Ésika’s Grazzia Paradise, that discontinued perfume. It’s very clean and wearable. Maybe someone very young wouldn’t like it, so I recommend trying it first. Basically, it’s white florals with a soapy scent.
It didn’t blow my mind or give me a sense of freedom. But everything is subjective when it comes to scent; the experience is intransferible and depends on how the perfume marries with your skin. I’d define it as a lavender-vanilla blend with a touch of white florals that sound a bit artificial to me. Nothing special… feminine, yes, but simply “pleasant.” I insist: it’s my perception, what it revealed on my skin. I love Dua Lipa; the campaign is excellent.
At first, the white florals come out more. Once it dries down, it smells sweet: vanilla with a touch of incense and lavender.
This perfume didn’t do anything for me at first; it seemed so boring that I couldn’t understand how so many people could like it. After multiple failed attempts to warm up to it, one day I tried it for the thousandth time at the mall and—puff!—like something unlocked inside me, I could finally smell it as beautiful 🥹✨. Since then, it’s become my obsession and one of my favorites. They say it doesn’t work for everyone on the first try, and that was totally my case. It’s fresh, elegant, clean, a total gem. In short, give it a second or third chance.
The tangerine note didn’t agree with me. Upon smelling it, it hit my nose too hard.
Love at first sight. That blend of lavender and vanilla is the hook. It lasts a few hours on my skin, though it still projects and is noticeable from a distance. It clings to clothes and makes for a perfect gift if you like this style; I’ve even received compliments, especially from girls. I absolutely adore it! Scent: 9.5/10 Longevity: 9.3/10
Very long-lasting on the skin, but no sillage; no one notices you’re wearing it.
I went to try it and my boyfriend gave it a 7.25. He says the floral note is very noticeable. To me, it smells like an elegant woman, though I’m not sure if it’s entirely suitable for my age… I’m in my twenties.
I’d describe it as elegant. I clearly detect lavender, mandarin, and white flowers. I don’t get the vanilla. I don’t think it’s youthful; the trail is very low, basically you only smell it for the first hour, then it’s just skin scent or like someone giving you a hug. I also think it’s quite unisex and pretty.
To me, it’s unisex, even with a more masculine character. I don’t like lavender, but I admit it’s well-blended; I don’t love it, but I could wear it if it’s in just the right amount and doesn’t bother others. I see it more for cold weather, more for night than day in my opinion.
Lavender, lavender, and more lavender. I love it, but I agree it could pass as unisex. To me, it feels like a sophisticated floral with a slight sweetness.
Writing reviews on Fragrantica usually just gets thumbs down, especially for best-sellers. It shouldn’t be like that, especially if the notes are well-argued and don’t sound like insults. But there are people who criticize their favorite perfume as if you stole from an old lady or kicked their dog, and comments get filled with stars and exclamation marks until the review disappears. What can you do? Knowing this, I’ll be a bit negative about the perfume voted best in 2024 here. I think Libre is vulgar. That’s the bottom line. It doesn’t say anything to me; I’ve heard scents like this at the grocery store, not in high perfumery. I have nothing against low-end stuff; in fact, I love it and have classics like Eau Jeune or Herbíssimo Cedro in my daily routine. But what I don’t like is being sold 30ml of a run-of-the-mill aroma for 50 euros. Don’t throw that bone to another dog. It’s industrial lavender coated in musky vanilla, maybe to make it more “drinkable.” The white flowers are boring, bergamot is the only standout, and the citrus is faded. It’s super versatile, man, woman, alien… anyone can wear it, but it conveys nothing, it’s a juice that smells good and you forget it in five seconds. Why? Because Libre is banal and insipid. It doesn’t bother anyone, lasts long, and is pleasant, but it has the personality of a room freshener. If selling this mediocrity is so profitable, the industry has little reason to create something better.
I’m surprised no one notices it’s identical to Prada L’homme, one of my favorites and totally unisex. It floats in the air exactly the same way. I could buy this instead of Prada, especially for the price and because it’s hard to find.
It’s nice, but Zara’s Golden Decade smells the same and costs way less. I like the scent, but I won’t be buying it again.
I’m super congested, the only thing I picked up was fresh, slightly creamy, and like Rinso detergent. I don’t get the hype. I’ll wait until I’m better to smell it again.
Smells luxurious and classy. At first, it’s unisex with a lavender note in the middle that balances it out. Once it dries down, it gets a bit sweet, but watch out: it’s not that cloying gourmand sweetness we’re all tired of. It’s not the most feminine option if that’s what you’re looking for. I love it for daytime, though it could work at night too. It’s super versatile, except in extreme heat, but for the rest of the year, it’s a steal.
I love this, wish it would never run out! At first, it smells cheap, like the kind you wear to hit on someone before going out dancing on a Friday night. But after five minutes, it transforms and gets better. I don’t know why, maybe because it just stops smelling cheap. It’s not my usual style, but it makes me feel beautiful because of all the compliments I get, and I love that.
Unexpected elegance. I bought it blind for Juan López Becerril and he nailed it again. Libre opens with soft, non-overpowering lavender, blended with bigarade blossom and bitter tangerine peel, very sophisticated. The jasmine adds a refined floral touch. As it dries, the musk gives it a clean feel with an almost imperceptible whisper of vanilla. It’s unisex and perfect for the office. If you want to smell different and surprise, this is one of those. Singular and distinctive Tom Ford. Note: 9/10.
Sweet but not gourmand; it’s elegant. I see it for people over 25 at formal outings. It makes me think of a mature, decisive woman. Sometimes I wear it and say it doesn’t fit the office vibe—it’s for something more.
Very long-lasting, doesn’t disappoint. If you like the opening, that’s what it will stay, almost identical. Clean fragrance.
You can definitely smell the lavender; it’s a mature, soft, and elegant aroma. It smells clean and well-balanced at the same time.
I feel like anyone who automatically thinks ‘rich’ when it comes to smelling good is thinking of this; it’s elegant without being cloying. It gives me a sense of calm. What I mostly detect is lavender with a touch of countryside or woods.
Very boring, I’m sick of it. It gave me nothing; I felt bland, like a beige smudge blending in. Plus, so many people wear it that there’s nothing to set you apart.
I like it; it’s elegant. Not for daily wear, but perfect for a special occasion or gathering.
I like it and I don’t. It smells like tangerine and orange blossom, which I enjoy, but it has that old-school, almost vintage vibe, like a classic perfume that’s not trendy. It doesn’t evolve much; the opening is the same as the dry down, just softer. I’m confused between the fresh citrus and that classic scent.
Everyone recommended it to death, but it disappointed me terribly on blotter. I was looking for lavender, something different, but the citrus notes suffocated me. Maybe it works on skin, but on paper it’s a hard no for me.
It’s a slightly sweet fragrance, but its jasmine and lavender notes really stand out. It lasts about five hours. It’s a cologne and I recommend it: it’s the scent of an elegant, well-mannered, radiant woman who leaves a mark, who falls down and gets back up a thousand times. That’s her aroma.
I was at the gym when a girl two meters away took off her hoodie, and a delicious wave hit me that reminded me of Myslf (the perfume I wear). I couldn’t resist the curiosity and asked what she was using; she said it was this one. Great for women, for all ages, and for any occasion, in my opinion 👌🏼
You can really feel the lavender. It’s a very sophisticated lavender, like a high-end lavender floor cleaner (in a good way), with lots of white florals and a touch of vanilla. I recommend it 👍🏻
I liked Libre from the start. It’s bright, a bit provocative, sensual, bold, and magnetic. Definitely for those who enjoy being in the spotlight, shining, and conquering with independence and charisma. Based on the compliments, this perfume ranks first, from both men and women. The longevity and sillage are excellent.
It’s a delicate fragrance. I bought it blindly based on the notes just to mix things up, since I always wear L’Interdit. I must say, Libre isn’t my style; I’m not a fan of this scent. Maybe it is elegant and versatile, but it’s extremely linear, with a vintage aroma that feels a bit boring… For me, the sillage is low, no matter how much I spray it, though it lasts several hours (I imagine mostly on clothes), since I occasionally catch a whiff throughout the day.
A nightmare and a waste of money; it smells synthetic. I can’t stand those plastic white flowers, and the vanilla tastes cheap, like a gross air freshener. I don’t know how anyone can like this. I don’t usually write negative reviews unless a perfume is truly awful.
Absolutely masculine. The lavender dominates everything else. Just thinking about it puts me in a bad mood.
Exquisite, elegant, and as feminine as it gets. It’s not tiring; it’s sweet without being cloying and floral without being overwhelming… It’s perfect. If you like something sweeter, go for the Intense version.
Ugh, what a delight! It stays on my skin so well. With all this heat and humidity, I applied it early and I can still smell it. It doesn’t smell masculine at all; it’s super feminine and fits that ‘free and empowered woman’ vibe perfectly. In enclosed spaces, it’s not cloying or nauseating; it smells fresh. I have the 30ml bottle, and when it runs out, I’m definitely buying the larger size. I love it, I want it to be eternal. 💜 Fun fact: I’m a Virgo, and they say our essence is lavender—it suits me perfectly and is very relaxing.
If it lasted longer, I’d buy it instantly, but it fades after about four hours.
