So delicious! Reminds me of African Leather by Memo, so it must be similar to Andy Tauer’s version. It’s very close to AL, but this one is softer, creamier, and more powdery, thanks to the balsam. I give it an 8 because African Leather is a 10 for me 😁
POSTDATA: THIS PERFUME DOESN’T REMIND ME OF EITHER L’AIR DU DESERT MAROCCAIN OR AU COEUR DU DESERT. I UNDERSTAND THAT AMBRS CAN BE SIMILAR, BUT THIS ONE IS VERY SWEET AND MUSKY, WHEREAS Tauer’s are drier and spicier. THERE IS TRULY A HUGE GAP BETWEEN THIS AND WHAT PEOPLE ARE COMPARING IT TO.
AMBER WITHOUT GRAY AMBER, AMBER THAT DOESN’T EXIST AND WE ONLY DREAM ABOUT. THE FANTASY AMBER NOTE, WHICH HAS RECEIVED SO MANY INTERPRETATIONS, SEEMS TO HAVE NO END. THIS PERFUME, WHILE IT IS A TYPICAL AMBER ACCORD, HAS A COCKTAIL OF WHITE MUSKS THAT GIVE IT A DISTINCT TWIST. ON THE OPENING, THE BERGAMOT BRINGS FRESHNESS, BUT IT PASSES QUICKLY. THEN THE BALSMIC PART EMERGES: THE PATCHOULI AND PERU BALSAM DRY DOWN WITH THE AMBER AND MUSKS, CREATING A RICH, FULL-BODIED BLEND. THE DRY DOWN IS A CANVAS OF VANILLA-MUSK; EVERYTHING ELSE DISAPPEARS, AND THE VANILLA WITH THE MUSKS LEAVE A BEAUTIFUL FINISH. THE LONGEVITY IS VERY GOOD, OVER 12 HOURS ON MY SKIN, BUT THE Sillage IS MODERATE: GOOD FOR THE FIRST TWO HOURS, THEN IT BECOMES A PERSONAL BUBBLE PERFUME. TODAY IT WAS 34 DEGREES AND I USED IT FOR THAT REASON, BUT I’VE HAD IT FOR OVER 6 MONTHS AND USE IT LITTLE BECAUSE IT’S NOT VERY VERSATILE.

Jeroboam is Jovoy’s most exclusive line. When I bought ‘Remember Me’, they added samples, including ‘Ambra’. It revolves around amber. The opening is brief, sparkling, and fresh with a hint of incense. It follows with mentholated, herbal, and spicy touches. Quite masculine. The dry down is neutral, creamy, powdery, and very musky with resinous warmth and a floral touch. Vanilla and tonka are there, but on my skin it’s not sweet; it has a sour note that I don’t like. It’s elegant, unique, bold, and sensual. Sillage and longevity are moderate. Ideal for cold climates. Although the dry down is more unisex, it still leans masculine. I wouldn’t be able to wear it; I think it shines much more on a man’s skin. They say it goes with Au Coeur du Désert by Andy Tauer, but I haven’t tried it, so I can’t say anything. The Angel by Mugler comparison must be due to the patchouli, which is very dominant. It was a surprise; it turned into a very unique amber with that mentholated, fresh heart. It’s not my style, but I do recommend the experience.
The background notes are the ones that rule. It feels spicy and gives it a slight air of ‘Heart of the Desert’. The musk makes it versatile for day and night. Slightly feminine and ideal for autumn 🍂; its sweetness makes it elegant. Projection is very contained, but the performance is brutal: it’s an extract that lasts on skin and clothes for 72 hours.
