  Finally, I have my Nirvana Bourbon. A 100% hit. For me, it’s: a businesswoman after a tough day, closing deals and making a killing. She’s alone in a bar with a glass of bourbon, wearing a brown suede knee-length skirt and stable heels. She’s not in a hurry to leave, probably ordering another drink; a bit tired but satisfied with herself. It’s a classy perfume with quality leather and vanilla notes, great longevity and sillage.

  They sent me a sample, and as soon as I applied it, it immediately reminded me of my Velvet Vanilla by Mancera. I wouldn’t call it a clone, but it’s very similar.

  If you’re looking for hyper-realistic oak, this is it. The wood is so dominant it almost eclipses the bourbon vanilla. I detect neroli among the other notes, but that white flower doesn’t shine because the oak takes center stage; there might be a hint of leather too. I bought this expecting vanilla-soaked neroli, but instead I’m getting very marked wood. It doesn’t smell bad, but it’s not what I wanted since I hoped the neroli would be the main accord. In short: the neroli is there, but it’s very resinous, woody, and has leather undertones.
