  • Portrait of a lady

Vol de Nuit is a perfume like many others from Guerlain. By that, I mean it has a complex aroma, with many notes, etc. I tried it a few years ago and have to say I found it somewhat masculine for a women’s fragrance. I appreciated its quite woody and green character. Its peculiar scent captivated me. I’ve proven that Guerlain perfumes have a special ‘mystique.’ They take us to specific moments, etc. This honestly doesn’t happen with current perfumery, except for a few exceptions. I don’t remember the projection very well, but the longevity exceeded the average. It seems very suitable for women with a lot of character. Another Guerlain classic that I hope will continue to maintain its status for many more years.

  • Chypre, unisex (for today’s perfumery, I’d even say masculine), and energy, life, drive, momentum, revitalizing, courage… absolutely tremendous.

Fantastic Guerlain perfume, halfway between chypre and oriental. It’s a woody fragrance where the base woods dominate, especially sandalwood. Powdery flowers, violet, iris, and jasmine. Despite formula changes, like the use of narcissus and animalic tinctures, Vol de Nuit hasn’t lost its richness or its great perfume character, just like its sibling L’Heure Bleue. Masculine, warm, and not dry. Resinous (unlike Shalimar) and ambered, playing beautifully with the heart flowers. I recommend it if you like sandalwood. The Eau de Toilette works perfectly. Cheers.

Awesome. Discreet, dreamy, classy, a bit elusive, intimate, and reserved. Opens with fresh, masculine notes, but that lasts only a minute; then comes the iris magic, with lots of rose, narcissus, iris root, and musk—that’s what really hits me. It’s similar to Shalimar EDT but less oriental, and I even like it more than Vol de Nuit. Perfect for any season, more daytime but ideal for a sunset date. PS: It’s halfway between Shalimar EDT and Chanel No. 19. Very little resemblance to L’Heure Bleue or Miss Dior Original. I tried the Bee bottle (EDT), and the only downside is it doesn’t last long, about 3 hours.
