  • Wonderful perfume, sweet and fruity. I tested it on my wrist and it smelled like mangoes with cream, a hint of gardenia or fragrant flower, and slightly green. Another one I tested thanks to the Cnidaria contest, and thanks to her I can review it. I have the same rule with perfumes as with books: if I like it the first time, I’ll like it forever… although there are some like A Men that I only liked as my taste matured. A wonderful perfume, I think it’s the most wearable by Thierry Mugler and one of the most commercial or appealing to the general public. I don’t smell the praline, but I do smell the amber, which leaves its sweet caress like jam at the end, when the fruits have already given their soul. Innocent is mischievous and young, far from chaste, yet not sexual either; it’s cheerful and feminine, for someone relaxed but with a strong personality, perfect for sunny mild days. A little sweeter than the old In Love Again by YSL, but fruity and floral to the same degree. Medium to powerful trail and good longevity.

  • A wonderful perfume, sweet and fruity. On my skin, it smells like mangoes with cream, a touch of gardenia, and something green. I got to try it thanks to the Cnidaria giveaway, which allowed me to share my thoughts. I have the same rule with perfumes as with books: if I like it the first time, I’ll love it forever… though there are exceptions like A Men, which I only came to adore once my taste matured. I think it’s the most wearable of Mugler’s creations and one of the most commercial, meaning it appeals to the general public. I don’t detect the praline, but I do smell the amber, which leaves a sweet, jam-like caress at the end when the fruits have already given up their essence. Inocent is mischievous and youthful; far from being chaste or sexual, it’s jovial and feminine, perfect for someone relaxed but with a strong personality, ideal for sunny mild days. It’s a bit sweeter than the classic In Love Again by YSL, but equally fruity and floral. The trail is medium-strength and the longevity is good.

  • Ugh, this perfume is extremely sweet for my taste. I liked it at first impression and bought it, but I must admit my mistake was testing it on blotter paper instead of on my skin. The opening is good, but it immediately turns into pure sugar. Definitely not for me; I have a full bottle and wouldn’t buy it again. Also, it’s exclusively for cold weather; I wouldn’t wear it in the morning or at work; it would drive all my colleagues crazy with a diabetic attack.

  • I owned it once and enjoyed it like a treat. It’s more of a perfume for me than for others. Serene, tender, and friendly, sitting somewhere between gourmand and celestial. It slipped away between two summers, a bit fleeting, but I’d have it close again. How could one not desire an innocent angel!

Innocent is the easiest Mugler to wear. Absolutely fruity, slightly sweet (I barely smell the praline); on my skin, citrus and fruits dominate. It opens totally citrusy, and after 5 minutes, blackcurrants and red berries appear. After an hour, a shy praline with a lovely resin. It’s not Angel’s younger sister; they are two distinct fragrances. Innocent is carefree, cheerful, fresh with sparks of sweetness, ideal for girls wanting to start their gourmand journey.

It opens with energizing citrus; you almost taste sweet and sour tangerines accompanied by red fruits. After a few minutes, the acidity gives way to a soapy sweetness that honors its name. It’s sweet but not overwhelming, giving a clean feeling and perfect for daily wear. Of all the Mugler scents I know, this is the easiest to wear: it doesn’t overwhelm or invade. Its trail and longevity carry that distinctive brand seal.

  • Casablanca77

Innocent is innocent, period. Just because it’s innocent doesn’t mean it’s simple or has poor sillage. The opening is citrusy without being overwhelming; initially, you’d expect a punch from Mugler, but here the name delivers. It’s gorgeous, anyone can wear it without hassle. A little sweet, but nothing like the praline or red berries you might expect. It’s so well-blended that the almond and musky touch balance everything from the start, leaving it tender, a bit sweet, but with lots of vitality. Without patchouli and with little amber, it gains that innocence we didn’t expect from this house. It’s a great daily candidate: cheerful, modern, and with personality. It has good longevity, though its trail is smaller than other Mugler scents.

  • Innocent is bold: it projects strongly with bergamot that sweetens slightly with tangerine. Then the blackcurrants with caramelized almond take center stage and last until the end. You could say it’s the niece of Angel; they share the same DNA, but here the fruity note stands out more, whereas Angel is loaded with chocolate and patchouli. Innocent is exquisite. Mugler closed that decade by offering something intriguing, just like they did six years ago with Angel. For lovers of gourmand-fruity scents, it’s a great option. It’s quite sweet, but not cloying. Longevity is excellent. I have the 2004 version.

  • It’s complicated for me. I get overwhelmed quickly by strong perfumes. I love this one, but I only wear it on very cold days and when I’m not around people, because I’m scared of bothering others. When I do decide to wear it, I use a tiny amount and never on my neck, because even I get dizzy. It’s a complicated relationship: I like it, but at the same time, it stresses me out.

  • Since I don’t like the original Angel, I absolutely love Inocent. It lacks that loud patchouli note and is super wearable. I thought it would be much sweeter, à la Vie et Belle, but I was pleasantly surprised: on my skin, it leaves a soft sweet base, while the orange and lemon notes stand out a lot at the beginning. I love that citrus originality paired with the warmth of sweet fruity notes and amber. I wish it had better longevity; I find it a bit low and the projection medium, which is probably why I think it’s ideal for warm climates. One day I’ll buy the bottle because I feel it’s original, tender, versatile, and comfortable to wear.

The original Angel just doesn’t work for me, but Innocent is pure delight. That loud patchouli is gone, and it’s super wearable. I thought it would be sweeter, like Vie et Belle, but I’m surprised: on my skin, it’s a soft sweet base with citrus (orange and lemon) that explodes at the start. I love this original blend of citrus with fruity warmth and amber. The only downside is longevity; it feels a bit weak, but it’s perfect for warm climates. It feels original, tender, versatile, and comfortable.

  • A very well-executed gourmand sport. It resembles the original Angel, but if you have a trained nose, you’ll discover it has an overdose of acidic berries that distance it from the saga’s unifying patchouli. The almond adds a woody, porous, cool, and masculine base, like a natural sponge soaked in bath aromas—some sweet, others manly and mysterious. Inocent is a very accurate Angel sibling, adding an almost sporty side. I love how they blended the gourmand aspect with an almost barbershop vibe (musk, bergamot, mandarin), something Hermès would do years later with Vetiver Tonka. Absolutely unisex, a hybrid half-gourmand and half-soapy, something addictive. P.S.: Ten years later, Mugler released another Angel offspring, Eau de Star. It wasn’t bad; it downplayed the patchouli in an aquatic watermelon vibe, though I couldn’t enjoy it due to my hatred of that note. Edit: When it dries down, it resembles Au Masculin by Lolita Lempicka remarkably.

I just finished my bottle, and the name fits perfectly. With Mugler, you expect untamed beasts, but this isn’t the case. Innocent is fresh and gentle; the liquid reflects its scent: clear, clean, refreshing, ideal for the heat. I used it in summer over 30 degrees, and after a while it became imperceptible to me, but everyone around me loved it. It’s ideal for daily, daytime, and informal use—not elegant, but very versatile for everyday activities. I wouldn’t repurchase it, but I enjoyed it. It lasts about 5 hours with soft projection. On me, the fruity notes predominate with a slight woody touch; I don’t feel the praline; it’s an aquatic and fresh aroma.

  • Citrus opening and slightly soapy. The red berries are very noticeable. I was surprised because as it dries down on my skin, it smells very sweet and fruity, completely different from the opening, as if it transforms. Am I the only one this happens to? I loved it 🙂

  • By chance, I found a perfumerie with old Innocent bottles at a good price. I bought a small 25 ml decant to try it before buying the full bottle before they run out. I notice the berries a lot, along with floral hints not listed on Fragrantica. I remembered where I’d smelled something similar: the Iris room spray from Boles d’Olor, a sharp lily (nothing like the soft one from Prada). That note is what attracted me before I discovered Rituals. It’s a pity they’re discontinuing it; I love it for the office and for leisure, although with current restrictions I haven’t been able to test it in evening settings. I wrote to Mugler asking if they would bring it back and got no response, which was disappointing in terms of customer service. I see Innocent as sweet but fresh, designed for high temperatures, so I’m waiting for spring. It’s frustrating that they discontinue perfumes right when you discover them. Also, I haven’t found any clones; there are clones of Angel and Alien, but zero for Innocent.

Thierry Mugler’s Innocent is quite unknown, which is a shame, because I like it more than the original Angel. You can really taste the praline and almonds with a citrus touch. It’s an elegant, celestial gourmand.

This Inocent by Thierry Mugler is quite unknown, which is a shame, because it’s a very beautiful perfume that I like much more than the original Angel. You can really smell the praline and almonds with a citrus touch. Elegant and celestial gourmand.

  • CYNTHIA1980

It’s an Angel, but shy and tender. It has the Angel DNA in soft doses; it smells soapy from the musk but sparkling from the citrus, sweet and juicy from the berries without being heavy. The almonds and praline are barely noticeable. It reminds me of Anna Sui Fantasy but with much better performance and quality; the other one is a beautiful bottle but doesn’t last as long.

  • Divine! I’ve had it for years and it hasn’t lost any quality. It’s elegant, present, sweet, and fresh. I treasure it. The combination of blackcurrants, praline, bergamot, and almonds is sophisticated.

  • Karen Campos

I bought a decant to test the line without jumping straight into Angel. It’s a citrus opening, slightly spiced and sparkling. As it dries down, you can feel the sweetness of the blackcurrants, but I don’t detect the almonds. It’s very sporty and unisex. The intensity is low; on my skin, it has almost no sillage, so I had to reapply sprays to feel it. I prefer strong fragrances with a noticeable halo, so for now it suits me, even though the rich aroma doesn’t fully convince me due to its weakness.

  • LosPerfumesDeJavi

Innocent is addictive at first, but as it dries down, it smells like a lighter version of Angel 2011, sort of a flanker. On skin, red fruits, praline, and orange stand out. Very fruity and rich. If you already own Mugler’s Angel, this might not be necessary; it’s not very original, but it’s pretty. It lasts about 5 hours with moderate sillage. The bottle is simple, but the star and the texture are magical, like stepping into another dimension. The blue liquid is fantastic. Give it a try; I think they’re going to discontinue it.

  • Gourmand Bottle

Lives up to its name: a clean fruity aroma with a green touch, super refreshing. Perfect for spring and summer. Gives me a total clean feeling; I love it.
