  • A very wearable and pleasant chocolatey patchouli. I love the density and darkness the base patchouli gives, even though I’m not a fan when it’s the main note. Setting my preferences aside, it’s a great fragrance and one of my favorite patchouli scents (though I wouldn’t buy it for myself), alongside Sticky Fingers by Francesca Bianchi.

Almah extract based on patchouli. Smells of earth, light mold, and medicinal balm with balsamic notes (menthol, eucalyptus), up to camphor and habanero. It closes with resins where myrrh stands out, leaving wood in the dry down. Forget it’s chocolate; it’s an earthy, bitter nuance that doesn’t confuse with Gurdman or the Montale clones. Few accords, but the raw materials are luxury grade. Projects little since it’s an extract, but lasts forever on skin. For patchouli lovers and 80s perfume enthusiasts.

It closes with resins where myrrh shines, leaving wood at the base. Forget the chocolate; it’s an earthy, bitter nuance that doesn’t confuse with Gurdman or Montale’s fake stuff. Suskind was right: it’s earthy and bitter. I detect myrrh and patchouli, but no chocolate. The ingredients are top-tier, though the blend isn’t original; its mission is to immerse you in darkness. Almah says it’s almost an Indonesian patchouli extract.

Pure and sublime patchouli, super earthy with dry tobacco notes. Its trail is another beast, smelling different upon contact compared to the direct scent, a duality that’s enchanting. There’s no chocolate here, but as it develops, it hints at subtle sweetness that adds complexity. If patchouli smells like an old man or ointment to you, stay away. If you want to smell the best patchouli of your life, this is it.

The chocolate isn’t there, but as it develops, it hints at subtle sweetness that adds complexity. If patchouli smells like grandpa or topical ointment to you, run.
