To avoid any surprises when buying it, here’s the truth: it smells exactly like a Moroccan skewer. Look, I like it, though it’s not my favorite among vetivers, but it definitely smells like that. Cheers.

Hey, if you want something practical and real about how this smells: it’s pure Moroccan skewer. I love it; it’s not my favorite because of the vetiver, but it’s decent. Cheers.

It opens fresh, spicy, and aromatic with bergamot, cardamom, and peppers. Then the vetiver arrives, but it’s not the rough type like ‘Encre Noire’ or Guerlain’s; it’s softer and creamier due to the iris root and some coffee notes that smell like supermarket instant, not beans. As it dries down, earthy patchouli along with hazelnuts and tonka bean create a weird sensation: mentholated vetiver with semi-creamy coffee. The composition isn’t spectacular, but it fulfills its function.

It opens fresh, spicy, and aromatic with bergamot and cardamom. Then the vetiver appears, but not the rough kind like Encre Noire or Guerlain’s; here it’s softer and creamier thanks to the iris root and a touch of instant coffee, nothing like strong beans. In the dry down, patchouli, hazelnuts, and tonka bean create a strange sensation of earthy, mentholated vetiver with semi-creamy coffee. It’s not spectacular, but it delivers.

It’s exquisite from start to finish: a sweeter vetiver, less earthy, that blends beautifully with coffee lily, cardamom, and bergamot. Note, nothing like Encre Noire which smells like resin and raw vetiver; here Ferrari makes it wearable, it’s closer to Guerlain Vetiver Extreme, and the longevity is beastly.

This is a tremendous fragrance; I bought it blind and it smells super sophisticated. Ignore the first two comments; they know nothing. You can like it or not, but claiming it has no projection means you don’t understand perfumes. Ferrari makes $300k cars, do you think they’d put out a low-quality perfume? I don’t believe it.

Vetiver Essence: the vetiver is barely noticeable at first. The rest is a politically correct mix with no concessions to trends. It’s not ugly or bad, but I wouldn’t buy it.

I jumped in blindly because of the good reviews on other fragrances in the line, but this was a total fiasco. They say it smells like vetiver and it’s a lie; all I detect is bergamot and cardamom, nothing else, it smells like a lemon lollipop. The projection is non-existent, it lasts an hour and then vanishes, it’s not even an Eau de Toilette. The bottle is nice and heavy with that metallic shine, but the scent doesn’t deliver on its promise. Maybe the others in the collection are good, but this has disappointed me and now I’m itching to try the Opium one instead of the Cedar.
