Vegan Leather Jacket is one of those scents that makes you rethink perfumery; honestly, given the gay name, I expected something Zara-like, but it actually stands toe-to-toe with compositions like Terroni and makes Ombre Leather uncomfortable when sharing a table. The opening is so spicy it reminds me of a tear gas canister cooling on the asphalt or a used welding rod. Its intimidating drydown doesn’t last past the third of its life; there, the welder’s mask comes off to reward you with a soapy base, like a peeling corduroy jacket mixing synthetic, sweat, and the wearer’s sweet perfume—a kinky performance that projects velvet and incense. Far from empty poetry, you must try it at least once: here, it’s not worth talking about notes or believing the olfactory pyramid. Lush is almost as massified as Subway or El Castaño, so the decision is to go, ask them to let you smell it, or pay the consequences. Negatives? Performance is a bit below average, consistent for the brand due to its natural focus, but worth abusing for the price to compensate. I’m surprised they offer such proposals at an accessible price with this quality; those seeking challenging perfumery or wanting to explore niche without sacrificing meals can start with Lush. Without sounding hipster, designer and Arab perfumery are repetitive, while niche can be unforgiving for those paying transport in installments. At least it should make us reflect that a cosmetics brand can show a more interesting path. Vegan but with very sharp teeth.
