Descripción
Town & Country by Clive Christian is a woody oriental fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2023, this olfactory composition was created by perfumer Vincent Ricord. Its pyramid unfolds with a top note of heliotrope, leading to a heart of ambergris and settling on a base of sandalwood.

Today I tried a sample. The opening is a ginger bomb with creamy fruity base notes reminiscent of some B. Rouge dupes. In fact, I thought, ‘okay, it’s masculine.’ But after 5 minutes, it turns totally fruity, with ginger, musk, and ambroxan; it lasts and projects a lot. The dry down smells like the online male humor from Natura, which is worth thousands of times less. There are niche fragrances where it’s hard to distinguish the quality-to-price ratio of their components… this is one of them.
Oh, my Dior! How do I say this without offending anyone? Let’s start by saying it has power, projection, and lasts over 8 hours. But oh no, that ambergris, however natural it is, reminds me of the super trendy Arab perfume Bharara King: a dry, loud woody scent, like chemical insecticide dust (methyl parathion) used in agriculture for ants and worms. That forage-like smell, so chemical and hostile. I don’t get how such an aggressive, invasive scent has been so popular in gyms and offices, worn by guys feeling fancy. It became famous in Mexico after boxer Canelo Álvarez mentioned it to an American reporter, and since then it spread like measles. Turns out this expensive perfume reminds me of that, and no, I don’t want it even for free.
Juanpasiones, calm down… you posted the wrong review; this isn’t Bharara King. Hater for no reason, don’t bring that energy here. Get some therapy or something, you’re just here to trash talk. This isn’t Twitter.
Reading the reviews for Town & Country, it sounded like a completely different scent. When I got the Crown Collection set, I decided to buy the full bottle since it was my favorite of the three, adding it to other favorites from the brand. To me, it’s a delicious, versatile, and contemporary aroma; even though I wasn’t looking for it, it’s brought me so many compliments. It has a creamy depth (probably from the sandalwood) and a sweet herbal note reminiscent of blue fragrances, but that salty nuance makes it unique. It wasn’t love at first sight, but it became addictive. Its projection and sillage are stronger than I expected; people from afar come closer to ask what I’m wearing. Far from being an Erba Pura or its clones, it has a mature, relaxed character without that sharp sweetness I dislike. My advice: don’t rely on reviews, try it. If you find it like I did, you’ll be hooked.
What a delightful fragrance. I’ve never regretted buying blind, just like I didn’t with Blonde Amber, and now not with Town & Country. Next up on my list will be Hedonistic from the same brand.
If you love Le Labo Santal 33 but find the sweet opening too heavy, this is your fresh, citrusy version. It opens with bright citrus notes, a green fougère heart with rosehip, and a spicy cardamom touch not listed on the official notes. As it dries down, it leaves a powdery woody trail that lasted hours under the sun and wind. Clive Christian is pricey, but the quality and performance totally justify it.
