  • It smells amazing on me, though I can’t quite recall the original perfectly; I just know I absolutely love the Isola Blu line. I’m going to try to get a decant of Isola since the Oligarch is nearly impossible to find. Update: I’ve already updated my review.

  • In my opinion, it smells muuuuch better. I don’t remember the original much (I only recall loving Isola Blu). I’ll try to get a decant of Isola since Oligarch is practically impossible, and I’ll update.

  • I don’t know the Isola Blu or the Oligarch, but this one didn’t quite convince me. Never buy blind, not even if the notes are your favorites. I have a personal aversion to bitter scents, but that’s subjective. As a fragrance, it’s very good, just lacks some punch. The longevity is decent, but the projection is disappointing. I’m letting it macerate because it has no strength and stays right on the skin. It’s very Terre d’Hermès style, a scent I always get tired of smelling. Hopefully, I’ll change my mind someday, but for now, it’s an DNA I just don’t vibe with. In terms of aroma, it’s citrusy, bitter, with sweet touches, quite ambered and woody. I can’t rate it objectively because personally, I don’t like it (others do). Update 2025: I finally tried the Roja Dove Isola Blu. I was blown away; the Dua version is identical. I have no words, it’s almost a 99% clone. The 1% difference is that it’s slightly more linear. But what matters is that hand-to-hand they are the same; the mid-stage, trail, and longevity are identical. Maybe they use some chromatography, because otherwise, there’s no other way. Aroma: 7/10 Longevity: 5/10 Projection: 5/10 Trail: 5/10 Value: 1/10 Blind Buy: 3/10 Versatility: 4/10 Season: Fresh and temperate climates. Better for going out at night.
