  First time trying Kilian and I’m completely baffled, genuinely confused. To me, these perfumes feel like a rip-off—I know not everyone thinks that, but that’s my honest opinion and I don’t want to offend anyone. It starts with a powerful, very realistic and green bergamot, then gradually sweetens with vanilla, accompanied by a medicinal and balsamic edge that doesn’t stand out at all. That’s basically it; there’s nothing else. Where’s the incense? The benzoin? The myrrh? In the end, it just smells like strong, very feminine bergamot that sweetens a little but not much. It’s pretty, but so much bergamot just tires me out. Honestly, for this, you’d be better off buying a bergamot fragrance from any budget brand and calling it a day. Sure, the ingredients are top-notch and natural, but you don’t need to spend a fortune just to smell like bergamot, whether it’s African orange, from Murcia, or from Cochinchina. It has moderate-to-high longevity, about 7 hours, with a moderate and soft sillage. I noticed it’s very feminine; I don’t see myself wearing it much or recommending it, as I’ve said, but given its qualities, I think it’s quite versatile to wear day or night in cool or temperate climates.
