Descripción

Soleil Piquant by Terry de Gunzburg is a floral fragrance for women. Created by perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena in 2018, its composition unfolds a scent pyramid that begins with top notes of bergamot, jasmine, and neroli; the heart reveals a bouquet of rose, lily of the valley, and peony; and the base settles on cedar, vetiver, and amber.

  • The only good thing about By Terry discontinuing their perfumes is that you can still find the last pieces at a great price 😔 This one is very ‘solar’ thanks to its sparkling, cheerful yet mature and distinguished blend of neroli and orange blossom, which are the dominant notes from start to finish. It has a citrusy and regal vibe; the cactus note isn’t as prominent as in CH’s 212 or as sweet as Alien Goddess Supra Florale, but rather subtle, restrained, well-balanced, and in harmony with the rest of the composition. Although listed as a ‘white floral’ in the pyramid, I don’t perceive it as a typical floral; instead, the green and astringent facets of the stems stand out to me. I see character similarities (not scent-wise) with Rosendo Mateu No. 3 due to the neroli, with Panouge’s Perle Rare Gold because of the cactus, and with Maison Lancome’s Figues et Agrumes, the latter lacking the obvious fig note but sadly sharing the fate of being recently discontinued. On the other hand, I see no resemblance (none at all) to the Orchidee & Arpels vanilla fragrance mentioned on Fragrantica. That one veers in a completely different direction, specifically toward vanilla; it’s sweet, comforting, and rich, but with a totally different character and clearly an autumnal occasion. I see this Terry perfume as perfect for bright spring or summer days: daytime, sober, and elegant.
