  • Wow, what a marvel! If you love sugared violet scents, this is your perfume. It’s very spring-like despite being quite sweet. It opens with a wonderful iris and violet accord, and over time, the lily root emerges, giving it a deliciously creamy dry down. It dries down to resemble benzoin, vanilla, and a well-crafted touch of sandalwood. If you’re fans of Insolence but find it too strong, try this—it’s as delicate as it is sophisticated. I think it’s perfect for someone who loves sweet perfumes but wants to experiment with something more floral. I’m absolutely in love with it. By the way, it has a great similarity to Amouage’s Opus III, just at a much more affordable price.

In its dry down, it resembles Benjuí, with vanilla and a well-crafted touch of sandalwood. • Cherchezlafemme

Earthy and resinous violet, with barely noticeable iris. It reminds me of violet candies but with more depth and body; it’s elegant and almost unisex. It sits halfway between the ethereal Insolence and the sumptuous Violet Blonde, but sweeter than both due to the resins and ylang. Very autumnal and winter-appropriate, it has a blanket effect. Think of a purple cashmere blanket with gold embroidery that’s worth its weight in gold—not the kind that pills from overuse. Discontinued but still available online, it’s worth it if you love violets but not frivolous, light perfumes. Edit: to add that as it evolves, it becomes sweeter; it’s only earthy in the opening.
