This is my sixth perfume from this house. Its greatest virtue is projection and longevity. It starts with very marked green notes. The blend of mimosa and oak moss gives me a citrus-aromatic sensation, even though it’s not declared. In the heart, a deep, dark, earthy patchouli shines through with those sparkling greens, a very tasty and versatile scent. In the dry down, it becomes more powdery and soapy, making it a blast. I see it as more masculine, suitable for any season and with dressed-up attire. On my skin, it lasts over 10 hours: very sharp for the first three, dropping down to skin-level by the seventh hour. Recommended for lovers of good patchouli. Scent 8.5/10, Sillage 9/10, Projection 8.5/10, Longevity 8.5/10.
First off, I’m new to perfumery and my nose isn’t as trained as many here, but I want to share my experience. I discovered this scent in a decant gifted when I bought Ombre Leather. Upon applying it, I felt a very dominant patchouli from start to finish, with a quite earthy smell, like wet earth; those were the two notes I detected. As it dried, a citrus touch was noticeable with that earthy base. It’s a very rich and unusual scent. On skin, it lasted about 14 hours despite showering; even after the shower, it was slightly noticeable. Projection and sillage are moderate, maybe a meter. I’d give it an 8.5/10. It’s not my favorite, but it’s not bad and lasts forever.
I bought it after checking the description and a review here. Honestly, I tested a decant first and then the bottle. In my experience, it lasts forever and projects quite well. I’d summarize it as a powdery patchouli, iris or lavender style. It has an animalic base that can be dangerous if you wear it in summer with sweat; on clothes, it’s fantastic and just right. I’m sure it will last me a long time because two sprays are a lot. Some smell chocolate, others leather. It’s my favorite fragrance so far, on par with Dior Homme Parfum and Ombre Leather (I have decants of both). The bottle is gorgeous and comes with a magnetic cap.
I love it. At first, it smells 80% like my favorite, Reminiscence Patchouli, but while that one stays earthy patchouli until the end, here the olfactory pyramid unfolds step by step. It quickly turns green. The earthy patchouli is evident from the start, just like in Reminiscence, but loses strength as the other notes come in. It’s not a beast in projection or sillage, as is the case with almost everything on my skin. Anyway, for the price, I’d stick with Reminiscence Patchouli, both the regular and the Elixir. Cheers.
Total delight! Loads of compliments. If you like caramel and sweetness, it’s yours; if not, don’t even look.
