The moment I applied it to my wrist, I was instantly transported back to the 90s: picture your partner bringing you a bottle of London soap to bathe in. You curl up in the bubbles, the sunset kisses your skin, and you feel that electric euphoria of seeing him again. You play with your hair, fall asleep while dreaming awake, lost in a night-long fantasy of a passionate love story. You feel mysterious, almost forbidden. You open your eyes in the fitting room wearing a tight black dress—elegant, sexy, with a neckline that shows skin without overdoing it. You head to the vanity, grab Society, and passionately spray it over your warm skin. It blends with your scent and your soul, creating a seductive, feminine aura. It’s exactly what you need today and what he’ll feel when he’s lost in your arms. I loved Society immediately; it goes beyond sophistication—it’s golden Burberry, perhaps one of the best ever created: long-lasting and evoking laughter and different ways of living. It’s osmanthus with honey, white flowers, and chypre notes, wrapped in something delicate. If cashmere was the star of perfumes back then, here it is again. First, a fruity-spiced strawberry blast knocks you out, while blackcurrant and ylang-ylang take center stage. Yes, it’s sensual, loaded with red fruits, and sweetly wrapped in beautiful roses. The osmanthus smells like peach—subtle, comfortable, not dominant but present. This fragrance is at once fruity, floral, sweet, and oriental. Over time, a honeyed sweetness emerges, the cherry on top. It has everything a dream fragrance should. I see it on mature, confident women with a seductive power that gets them exactly what they want. One of Burberry’s best—a true luxury to have tried it.
I think they’ve discontinued it already; I have a little bit from about 20 years ago and it smells exactly the same. I wouldn’t classify it as floral; the woody notes really dominate. The trail and projection are huge, so I keep it just as a memory.
