I fell over laughing when I smelled this masterpiece, but I got up to tell you my opinion on Sir Winston: it opens with tea, followed by white flowers with that wonderful musk from Mr. Dimitri. It’s a fragrance that turns into a tattoo to stay with you forever; I want and love for it to stay with me forever. Another genius from Bortnikoff; he makes us travel olfactorily to a flower-filled valley full of peace and tranquility. Relax, because once the people around you smell it, they won’t let you be at peace. If you can, get it with your eyes closed, hands tied, one-legged… however you can, you won’t go wrong.

Given that my favorite Bortnikoff scents can be Musk Khabib, Sayat Nova, any of his Ouds, or even Sans Fleurs, I’ll tell you it doesn’t seem as special to me as I hoped from Dimitri. Sweetened, musky flowers that smell deliciously… deliciously easy. Those who like Dimitri’s colognes (Amber, Moss, Vesna…) will surely like this. Those who appreciate the extreme, special aromas he seeks and that aren’t found so easily won’t find them here. Obvious quality, great smell, versatile, very unisex, and perhaps despite the names of the more feminine ones in his collection.

I bought a decant and my analysis is from memory: no tea, no tobacco, no vanilla. Only the neroli flower dominates from start to finish, a realistic bouquet that drowns everything out. My nose isn’t a sommelier’s, so I’m guessing from memory: it smells like an old-fashioned floral fragrance, the kind my grandmother used. It’s more feminine than masculine; I don’t see it as unisex.
Sir Winston by Bortnikoff pays homage to British culture and Churchill, promising an afternoon of tea, pastries, and a fine cigar. The tea note is the most realistic I’ve tried, intelligently blended with tuberose. Then comes dry, subtle tobacco, with tea dregs and neroli dominating the blend. Oud, vanilla, and ambergris serve only as a base. It’s a pleasant, well-composed scent, but too proper and perhaps a bit boring; in the end, it’s just a quiet afternoon of tea.
Is this really about Winston Churchill? 🎩🚬 Another mediocre perfume from the brand that takes the Prime Minister as inspiration for his love of tobacco. The opening smells of ambergris and neroli, a waxy, very natural combo that doesn’t bite. The neroli loses strength quickly and disappears, leaving only the typical woody oud smell of Bortnikoff. Very boring and with poor longevity. Where is the vanilla? And the tea? They’re supporting notes that aren’t noticeable. The tobacco isn’t there either; you have to imagine it mentally mixed with the oud as it dries. The website says it’s ‘rich and complex,’ but it’s not; it’s fake. The raw materials are good, but the result is bad. If it were a neroli perfume, it would last 15 minutes, so why $350? 😂 It’s simple, incomplete, and boring. Tabac Doré would have been perfect here. No thanks 👎
